While May 23 saw numerous players come back from the injured list, several individuals left their respective games. Alex Bregman had to be pulled from the Sox’s game against the Orioles, while Brandon Nimmo came out after a rain delay in Flushing.

Bregman left game vs. Orioles

After tweaking something during Game 1 of what was supposed to be a doubleheader against the O’s, Red Sox third baseman Alex Bregman was pulled with right quad tightness.

Bregman was not listed in the Game 2 lineup, although it didn’t matter as that game was postponed.

The Red Sox infielder said regarding an IL stint after leaving the game, “I feel like we’ll know a lot more tomorrow after sleeping and seeing how it presents in the morning. But all my strength is still there right now, which is good so far.”

He’s day-to-day.

Contreras scratched

Cardinals infielder Willson Contreras was originally scheduled to play on May 23 against the Diamondbacks. However, he ultimately did not start and was scratched.

St. Louis stated Contreras is dealing with back spasms.

Santander misses another game

The Blue Jays kept Anthony Santander out of the starting lineup for the second straight day with a hip injury. However, Santander did come in as a pinch hitter.

He’s expected to come back into the lineup on May 24.
