The sixth week of the 2026 college baseball season is in the books, and it was quite a memorable one. A no-hitter was thrown, several powers went off at the plate, and a longtime SEC head coach was relieved of his duties, as well. But at the end of it all, the top schools haven’t shifted, as far as the rankings are concerned.

Clemson and Wake Forest are out of the top-25.
The top three remain unchanged, while Mississippi State slid into #4 after a convincing weekend sweep of Vanderbilt at home. Four pitchers, including Ryan McPherson, held the Commodores to two runs scored in the series opener on March 20. The Bulldogs’ offense exploded on the 22nd for 17 runs to complete the sweep.
Ace Reese, Reed Stallman, Ryder Woodson, and Kevin Milewski all homered in that final game. Stallman had nine total bases, while Woodson picked up seven.
Most of the top ten went unchanged. The only difference, aside from minor movement, was that USC jumped to #10 after a weekend sweep of the Washington Huskies. USC has won all but one contest thus far from the Big 10 schedule. The Trojans’ lone loss in Big 10 — and overall — play was a March 14 defeat to Northwestern.
However, these next two weeks will be very important for USC. The Trojans get #14 Oregon State on the 24th, then will face UCLA on the road for three games starting on April 13. Sandwiched in there are three games in Maryland and a home contest versus UC Santa Barbara.
Another big winner was West Virginia, as the Mountaineers won three in a row over the weekend against BYU. It was a good week for WVU, as the school will go on the road this coming weekend and face #22 Arizona State.
Dawson Montesa, the D2 transfer who’s become the ace of the Mountaineers’ staff, struck out seven over seven innings on March 19.
Ole Miss moved up six points after winning two of three at home against Kentucky. Hunter Elliott struck out six over 6.1 scoreless innings against the Wildcats on March 19.
The big loser of the week was Florida, as the Gators were swept by the Alabama Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa.
It was a nightmare-ish weekend, as Tyler Fay threw a nine-inning no-hitter against the Gators on the 20th. Fay struck out 13 in the game. Three of those 13 strikeouts were to Ethan Surowiec.
However, perhaps the most difficult of those losses came on the 22nd, as Alabama rallied to score 14 runs between the fifth and seventh innings. The Gators’ pitching staff conceded three total home runs and nine walks.
Alabama catcher and former LSU Tiger Brady Neal drove in 11 during that series. Seven of those RBI came on March 22.
