Abrams & Ramirez among players out on 8/31
Nationals 2B/SS CJ Abrams was scratched from the club’s starting lineup on the 31st, as he was dealing with back tightness.
Cubs infielder Pedro Ramirez was out against the Brewers with back tightness.
IL moves
Willson Contreras is now on the injured list, as the Red Sox placed him there with a left hamstring strain.
Marlins infielder Xavier Edwards landed on the IL with a left thumb sprain.
The Rangers placed pitchers Peyton Gray (right elbow inflammation) and Cole Winn (right rotator cuff strain) on the 15-day IL.
Brewers pitcher Bryse Wilson was placed on the 15-day IL with a low back strain.
Mariners pitcher Nick Davila was placed on the 15-day IL with an SC joint sprain.
Colt Emerson, done for the 2026 season after wrist surgery, was transferred to the 60-day IL.
Abner Uribe (Brewers), Mark Vientos (Mets), Cooper Criswell (Mariners), and Ketel Marte (Diamondbacks) were activated off the injured list.
Other notes
George Lombard Jr. (knee) worked out pre-game but did not start for the Yankees against the Angels.
The Indianapolis Indians announced that Konnor Griffin will join the club for a rehab assignment beginning on September 1.
Tigers outfielder Riley Greene is expected to be activated on the 1st, after rosters expand.
