It was not the best day for Brandon Lowe & Jac Caglianone, both of whom were removed from their respective games on June 6. Additionally, Mets infielder Jorge Polanco suffered a setback during his rehab assignment.

Lowe leaves game

The Pirates lost Brandon Lowe in the ninth inning of their game against Atlanta on Saturday.

Lowe had to leave after he fouled a ball off his right knee.

Polanco hit with setback

The Mets announced that Jorge Polanco experienced ankle soreness in Syracuse, where he was on a rehab assignment with the team’s Triple-A affiliate.

Per the team, Polanco will return to New York City for further examination.

IL moves

Another Yankee was placed on the injured list, as Austin Wells landed on the IL with cervical headaches.

Rangers catcher Danny Jansen was placed on the injured list with a right forearm strain.

The Angels placed Gustavo Campero, who was just added to the 40-man roster, on the IL with a hand fracture. Jorge Soler was also placed on the IL with an oblique strain.

Red Sox reliever Jovani Moran was placed on the IL with elbow inflammation.

Quinn Priester and Tyler Glasnow were transferred to the 60-day IL.

Rehab assignments

Two Major League pitchers worked in Worcester, Massachusetts, on the 6th. Red Sox reliever Garrett Whitlock was one, as he tossed a scoreless inning for Boston’s Triple-A affiliate.

Shane Bieber pitched for Buffalo in that game. Bieber struck out three and surrendered six hits over 2.2 IP (59 pitches) for Triple-A Buffalo. He averaged 92 MPH and topped out at 93 MPH.

Other notes

Royals outfielder Jac Caglianone left against the Twins thanks to right shoulder soreness.

Byron Buxton (shoulder) did not play on June 6, one day after he collided with the outfield wall in Minnesota. Michael Harris II (back) and JJ Wetherholt (groin) also sat.
