Two notable outfielders left their respective games on April 9. Parker Meadows was forced out of the Tigers-Twins game thanks to a collision in the outfield, while Brent Rooker felt discomfort after a swing during the Athletics’ game.

Meadows hospitalized

Tigers outfielder Parker Meadows was carted off the field in Minnesota in the eighth inning. Meadows, who was diagnosed with a concussion, collided with Riley Greene after the two attempted to field a fly ball hit by Josh Bell. Greene caught the ball but couldn’t avoid the collision, and Meadows received the brunt of it.

Manager A.J. Hinch stated after the game that Meadows would stay in the hospital overnight to be observed.

Rooker injured

Athletics OF/DH Brent Rooker was diagnosed with plank discomfort after he left the game in The Bronx against the Yankees on April 9.

Rooker came up limp after he took a swing in the first inning of that contest. After consultation with the trainer and manager, Rooker was removed.

Polanco may require IL stint

Mets manager Carlos Mendoza indicated on April 9 that Jorge Polanco may need to go on the injured list.

Polanco sat again on April 9 thanks to an Achilles injury that has been bothering him since the start of the regular season. Mendoza stated that his Achilles flared up again on the 8th against the Diamondbacks.
