If there’s one thing that prospective contenders want to do before Opening Day, it’s to have their stars healthy and avoid injury. That can be unavoidable at times, and that rang true on March 15. The Guardians saw Jose Ramirez go down with a shoulder injury. The good news is that it doesn’t appear to be a major issue.

Ramirez dealing with shoulder injury

Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez was removed from his team’s Cactus League game on March 15 in the fourth inning against the Athletics.

Per manager Stephen Vogt, it was due to shoulder inflammation. Ramirez jammed his left shoulder into third base during a head-first slide.

Ramirez is considered day-to-day.

Neto dealing with hand sprain

Angels shortstop Zach Neto told the media on the 15th that he should be back in the team’s lineup over the next few days. X-rays on his hand came back negative.

However, he is dealing with a minor hand sprain at the moment. Neto suffered the injury during Cactus League action on March 14.

Suzuki yet to be evaluated

Cubs manager Craig Counsell told the media that Seiya Suzuki‘s knee has yet to be evaluated.

Suzuki suffered a knee contusion after injuring it on a slide to second base during Japan’s loss to Venezuela in the 2026 WBC quarterfinals. He was removed from the contest early.
