The Athletics head into 2026 with a young, exciting core. And that group could receive more reinforcements later on in the year. On January 28, the Athletics announced their list of non-roster invites to Spring Training. Leo De Vries, Jamie Arnold, and Gage Jump are among the notables who will be with the big club.

The prospects

Many of the players who are non-roster invites for the Athletics are top prospects — and players we covered extensively in our 2025 farm review.

The marquee name is Leo De Vries, the superstar prospect who was the main piece that the Athletics received in the Mason Miller deal. De Vries, as we noted in our A’s and Padres‘ reviews, made consistent contact, worked counts, and hit for power as a teenager both in High-A and Double-A.

Between those two levels, De Vries slashed .255/.355/.451 with 15 home runs and 51 extra-base hits across 118 games.

Aside from De Vries, the A’s will also have notables like Tommy White, Joshua Kuroda-Grauer, Ryan Lasko, Clark Elliott, Henry Bolte, and Euribiel Angeles.

White had a good overall year between High-A and Double-A, although he didn’t put up the prodigious power numbers he produced with LSU. Kuroda-Grauer’s bat-to-ball skills are among the best in the Minors, while Bolte — a toolsy outfielder — had big swing-and-miss problems last season between Double-A and Triple-A.

Catcher Shane McGuire will also be among the several catchers in camp. We’ll get into that more in the next section.

As for the pitchers, Wei-En Lin, Domingo Robles, Yunior Tur, Gustavo Rodriguez, Kenya Huggins, Kade Morris, and Gage Jump will be with the big leaguers.

Jump is the most notable of the group. The former LSU pitcher could have been a first-rounder in 2024, wasn’t, and is now, arguably, a top-two pitcher in the organization.

The 22-year-old left-hander struck out 131 over 112.2 IP and possesses an explosive fastball. He dominated High-A, and while his Whiff% dropped when he was in Double-A, it was still among the better ones in the Texas League.

Wei-En Lin, meanwhile, broke out last season and will look to continue the momentum in 2026. Lin struck out 117 batters over 87 innings between Low-A, High-A, and Double-A.

The Athletics also invited Jamie Arnold, the team’s top pick from 2025. Arnold, a left-hander resembling Chris Sale, was arguably the best pitching prospect available in the 2025 MLB Draft heading into last year. However, after others rose in the draft rankings last year, Arnold fell to the Athletics at #11.

The former Florida State pitcher did not get into game action last season after he was signed.

Other notables

The Athletics’ veteran non-roster players include former Rays reliever Nick Anderson, Matt Krook, ex-Nationals first baseman Joey Meneses, Brooks Kriske, Nick Hernandez, Cade Marlowe, Chad Wallach, Wander Suero, Bryan Lavastida, Joel Kuhnel, Brian Serven, Michael Stefanic, and Geoff Hartlieb.

Former first-round pick JJ Goss, formerly a Rays prospect, will also be with the A’s in Arizona.
