MLB The Show 26 will be released worldwide on March 17, 2026, four days after early access launches. That March 17 date is important, as it’ll also mark the day that the 2026 World Baseball Classic final is scheduled. Will World Baseball Classic-themed content be in the upcoming MLB The Show game?
Status of WBC in MLB The Show 26
Yes, MLB The Show 26 will have World Baseball Classic-related content in Diamond Dynasty.
Sony confirmed this in its release announcement on July 27.
This shouldn’t come as a shock to those who saw the cover of this year’s game. Team USA’s logo was featured on the cover alongside Judge, who will play for America during the 2026 World Baseball Classic.
However, it also shouldn’t shock those who played MLB The Show 23. That game launched in 2023, the year of the last WBC. For MLB The Show 23, player items for many of the individuals who starred in the tournament were released in March of that year.
Players like Mike Trout, Julio Rodriguez, Shohei Ohtani, and J.T. Realmuto all received high Diamonds in Diamond Dynasty, as that year featured the first instance where Sets were the standard of the game’s meta.
But on top of that, non-MLB players were also featured in Diamond Dynasty. Past MLB players like Eric Sogard, Vance Worley, and John Axford received cards. Additionally, stars from the KBO and NPB, who never played in the Majors to that point, were also featured.
Kensuke Kondoh, one of the NPB’s best hitters, was in the game. Munetaka Murakami, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Roki Sasaki also received high Diamonds, as did then-KBO outfielder Jung Hoo Lee.
Additionally, team uniforms were also released as usable items in Diamond Dynasty.
It should be noted, though, that Sony only noted that WBC-themed content will be coming to Diamond Dynasty for MLB The Show 26. Three years ago, WBC content was limited to Diamond Dynasty.
