It won’t be a full slate of games on June 7, as the Phillies and Mets prepare for their upcoming MLB World Tour London Series. Still, plenty of action will occur, highlighted by a marquee matchup in The Bronx between the Dodgers and Yankees. So, what looks good on the betting front? Here’s a look at our best MLB bets for June 7 (odds via BetMGM New York Sportsbook):
- Michael Lorenzen under 17.5 outs (-105)
- Red Sox ML (+100)
We’ll start with Michael Lorenzen, who’s been on a roll as of late. The Rangers starter has thrown at least six innings in each of his last five starts, dating back to May 8.
It’s a curious run for Lorenzen, a starter who doesn’t have blow-away stuff but can be quite effective at times thanks to his secondary stuff. Unfortunately for Lorenzen, the righty will face the Giants on June 7.
While the Giants don’t have a dominant offense on paper and stand 14th in the Majors in wOBA (.310), the Giants work teams. San Francisco hitters have seen the seventh-most pitches (9,293) and on-base percentage (.317). If Giants hitters can work Lorenzen, it could be a shorter-than-usual night for the righty.
As for our second pick, Cooper Criswell and the Red Sox will face Garrett Crochet on the White Sox on June 7. Boston is on the road for this one, and the fact that Crochet is on the mound will mean the Sox enter the day as the underdog. However, Boston’s offense did well on June 6, as Jarren Duran posted four hits and Rob Refsnyder netted three en route to a 14-2 victory.
We’ll go with Boston over the 15-48 White Sox.
