Here’s a look at our best MLB bets for May 21 (odds via BetMGM New York Sportsbook):
- Andres Gimenez over 1.5 H+R+RBI (-155)
- Robert Gasser over 3.5 strikeouts (-165)
We’ve gone with the over on this prop with Andres Gimenez twice already this season — and both have hit. We’ll go with it a third time on May 21 in a good matchup against Adrian Houser and the Mets.
Houser was a steady sinkerballer during his Milwaukee days but command has led to problems for the righty. The 31-year-old owns a 1.84 WHIP, as he’s allowed three or more walks and four or more hits in four starts this season.
Gimenez didn’t record a hit or run scored in his last game, the first time since May 11.
As for our second pick, left-hander Robert Gasser will face Jazz Chisholm Jr. and the whiff-prone Miami Marlins.
Gasser will rely on his sinker often but his four-seamer and sweeper netted whiffs in the Minors and that’s been the case thus far in the Majors despite only six strikeouts over 11 MLB innings.
The 3.5 number is low given Gasser’s stuff, given why we like this pick.
