It’s Saturday across Major League Baseball and’ll be a jam-packed day of action. The Yankees and Rangers will face off in a doubleheader, while the Twins resume their series against the Guardians. And, Paul Skenes will make his first start at Dodger Stadium. So, what looks good on the betting front? Here are our best MLB bets for August 10, 2024.
Our best bets for August 10
Here’s a look at our best MLB bets for August 10 (odds via BetMGM New York Sportsbook):
- Manny Machado over 1.5 H+R+RBI (-140)
- Griffin Canning under 17.5 outs (-120)
Manny Machado and the Padres will face Roddery Munoz and the Marlins on August 10, quite an interesting matchup for the San Diego offense. Munoz doesn’t miss many bats (23.9% Whiff%, 40th percentile) and it shows, with a low strikeout (59 over 69.2 IP) total and a 5.68 ERA. Not to mention, poor batted ball metrics.
Machado has hits in six of seven games this month, including four multi-hit games. And he hits sinkers very well, which is pertinent given he’ll face a sinkerballer in Munoz. The 32-year-old is batting .330 against the two-seamer this season.
As for our second pick, Griffin Canning and the Angels will face Patrick Corbin and the Nationals. On paper, it’s a friendly matchup for hitters. Canning has struggled mightily on the road this season, as he owned a 5.86 ERA/1.34 WHIP over his first 10 road starts (50.2 IP).
