The Brewster Whitecaps’ 2026 roster has some very notable pitching talent, including several MLB Draft-eligible arms. Plus, several sophomore hitters who were very important pieces for their respective teams in 2026.
Pitchers
| Name | 2026 Team |
|---|---|
| Tye Briscoe | Arkansas |
| Santiago Garcia | LSU |
| Ethan Grim | Virginia Tech |
| Zach Kmatz | Oregon State |
| Payton Manca | Florda State |
| Jordan Martin | Arkansas |
| Johnny Nuanez | Wichita State |
| Finbar O’Brien | Gonzaga |
| J.D. Ogden | Boston College |
| Jordan Regulski | Duke |
| Mavrick Rizy | LSU |
| Schuyler Sandford | Florida |
| Charlie West | Connecticut |
| Charlie Wilcox | Georgia Tech |
| Carter Williams | Texas Tech |
Thanks to Brett Renfrow and Griffin Stieg, the Virginia Tech Hokies had one of the better rotations that helped get the school to the tourney this season. However, there was another pitcher, Ethan Grim, who shone this season. As a freshman, Grim struck out 49 over 45 innings.
Yes, he had an ERA north of 7.00 this season. However, the results were there. Grim also showed a mature, diverse arsenal that included a changeup, a cutter, a sweeping breaking ball, and a low-to-mid-90s fastball with ride.

Duke will have two players on Brewster, not the only two Blue Devils to play in the Cape this year (reliever Ben Dean, who struck out 60 this season, is with Bourne). One of those players is Jordan Regulski, who was hit around quite a bit as a freshman.
LSU’s 2026 team sends two pitchers to Brewster: junior Santiago Garcia & Mavrick Rizy. Mid-90s fastball for Rizy, who struck out 28 but walked 19 over 21 innings for the Tigers last season. Junior left-hander Santiago Garcia punched out 35 over 22 frames this season.
Jordan Martin & Tye Briscoe barely pitched this season for Arkansas, as the two combined to toss four innings on a deep squad.
Lastly, another name to watch is junior Charlie West from UConn. Generally speaking, you’re not going to see a lot of velocity from Big East pitchers, and West was someone who topped out at the low-90s. But he competed well for the Huskies, a school that plays a tough non-conference schedule every year.

West struck out 111 over 87 innings this past season for Connecticut.
Catchers
| Name | 2026 Team |
|---|---|
| Owen Jenkins | Kentucky |
| Jacob Lee | VCU |
Owen Jenkins held his own as a freshman with the Kentucky Wildcats. Jenkins slashed .242/.302/.315 over 40 games this season.
Brewster will also have Jacob Lee, who led A-10 champion VCU with 17 home runs this past season. Lee went 2-10 in the 2026 Chapel Hill Regional.
Infielders
| Name | 2026 Team |
|---|---|
| Petey Craska | North Alabama |
| Dane Harvey | Ohio State |
| Jake Lambdin | Duke |
| Jamie Laskofski | William & Mary |
| Will Moore | Indiana |
| Alexander Peck | Arkasas |
Jake Lambdin had his best season as a collegiate player in 2026 after two seasons with Xavier. Lambdin hit .275 and picked up 56 hits, second-most on the Blue Devils. He also finished with a career-best eight home runs.
Sophomore infielder Will Moore posted a .426 on-base percentage this season for the Indiana Hoosiers.
Dane Harvey is a big bat, as the Ohio State Buckeye hit 19 home runs as a sophomore this season.
Outfielders
| Name | 2026 Team |
|---|---|
| Jay Abernathy | Tennessee |
| Frankie Carney | UC Irvine |
| Brody DeLamielleure | Florida State |
| Terrence Kiel II | Texas A&M |
| Adam Magpoc | San Diego State |
| Cash Strayer | Florida |
| Michael Torres | Miami (FL) |
There’s a good amount of notables among the outfielders for the Whitecaps.
Jay Abernathy batted .282 as a freshman back in 2025 with Tennessee. However, Abernathy, who led the Vols in stolen bases, only hit .236 as a sophomore.
And speaking of speed, Terrence Kiel II stole 10 bases to lead the Aggies. However, his offensive numbers dipped in 2026, as well.
Brody DeLamielleure played exactly 37 games this season, the same total as in 2025. But in 2026, DeLamielleure hit .343, struck out fewer times, and wound up being one of the more productive hitters on an FSU team that missed their slugger Myles Bailey down the stretch.
Former BC utility player Adam Magpoc hit over .300 in the Mountain West this season with San Diego State.
