Hyannis’ 2026 roster is interesting, as it is relatively light on players from “Power” conferences. Still, there’s plenty of talent, headlined by one of the best sophomore pitchers in Division I this season, plus a big bat from Birmingham.
Pitchers
| Name | 2026 Team |
|---|---|
| Kyle Alivo | Iowa |
| Easton Barrett | Arizona State |
| Carter Cox | Northern Illinois |
| Jack Giordano | Oregon State |
| Cohen Gomez | Stanford |
| Liam Kinneen | Princeton |
| Sebastian Lippman | FGCU |
| Clay Masonis | UNC Wilmington |
| Sax Matson | USC |
| Drake Meeks | Southern Miss |
| Robbie O’Connor | Northeastern |
| Brayden Sharp | Rice |
| Brady St. Pierre | Southeastern Louisiana |
| Karsten Sweum | Gonzaga |
| Truit Webb | Southeastern Louisiana |
There may not be a lot of notables from household universities on the Hyannis roster. However, there are some big overall names.
One of those is sophomore and WCC Pitcher of the Year Karsten Sweum from Gonzaga. Sweum struck out 110 batters over 78.2 IP for the Bulldogs this season, easily the most on the team.
Robbie O’Connor was one of the three regular rotation men for the CAA champion Northeastern Huskies. O’Connor struck out 59 over 84.1 IP, the latter of which led the team.
Southeastern Louisiana has two pitchers from their 2026 team with Hyannis. Brady St. Pierre only made six starts, yet still struck out 33 over 24 innings. Truit Webb struck out 46 over 45 innings.
Then, there are some from notable schools. Easton Barrett pitched fine as a freshman for ASU but didn’t have a ton of success in his sophomore campaign. Barrett struck out 23 but walked 25 over 20 innings for the Sun Devils.
Sophomore Jack Giordano struck out 10 over 6.2 IP for the Oregon State Beavers this past season.
Catchers
| Name | Team |
|---|---|
| Jon Embury | FGCU |
| Will Fosberg | Northeastern |
| Efran Ortega | UC Irvine |
| Blake Primrose | Saint Joseph’s |
While Evan Dempsey sucked up much of the oxygen around FGCU this season, Jon Embury made an impact as a sophomore. Embury cracked 17 home runs to lead the team, as well as 80 hits, second-most for the Eagles.
Efran Ortega slashed .306/.436/.339 as a sophomore for UC Irvine, along with 38 hits in 42 contests.
Will Fosberg hit .194 in limited time as a sophomore.
Infielders
| Name | 2026 Team |
|---|---|
| Charlie Bates | Stanford |
| Jason Fultz Jr. | Clemson |
| Trey Hawsey | Louisiana Tech |
| Taylor Kirk | Fordham |
| Jordan Lodise | UCF |
| Caden Miller | UTSA |
Stanford came into 2026 with several potential impact sophomores, yet most of them had their struggles in the ACC this season. Charlie Bates was in between in that category, as he finished second on the Cardinal in hits this season despite a .272 average. He also hit nine home runs, a big jump from the one homer he popped in 2026.
There’s also sophomore Taylor Kirk from Fordham, who hit very well in the A-10 this season. Kirk had 71 hits and 30 stolen bases for the Rams, both of which led the team.
Jordan Lodise had 45 hits in 2026 and played nearly every day as a freshman for UCF.
