Ole Miss and Vanderbilt dropped out of the top 25.

Over the past three weeks, Roch Cholowsky has hit virtually every weekend of the short college season. Cholowsky has seven home runs on the season, tied for fourth most in the Division I ranks. The only players with more are Kollin Ritchie (9 – OK State), Daniel Jackson (9 – Georgia), and Will Gasparino (10).

Gasparino has proven to be one of the most important transfer acquisitions of the summer, as he’s hit 10 home runs over his first three weekends as a Bruin.

UCLA takes over the top spot from LSU, which didn’t do too much to lose it aside from a midweek loss to McNeese State on February 24. The Tigers won two games against Dartmouth and one against Northeastern, with one more game against the Huskies set to take place on March 2.

The 24th was a particularly chaotic day across college baseball. Oklahoma suffered a loss to unranked Arizona State, while Arkansas and Georgia Tech both lost to in-state, unranked rivals (Arkansas State and Georgia State, respectively).

Moving on to some of the other schools, Wake Forest won four games this weekend, two against LMU and two against Davidson. The Demon Deacons scored a combined 31 runs over the final two games of their weekend.

It’s been a strong start for Dalton Wentz and Kade Lewis, both draft-eligible at the end of the year. Wentz has 16 hits and four home runs, while Lewis has three. Junior Javar Williams also been a lightning rod, as Williams holds team-highs in hits (17) and stolen bases (13).

As for the pitching staff, Chris Levonas‘ 33 strikeouts are second-most in Division I, behind only OSU star Dax Whitney (34).

TCU, meanwhile, rebounded after running the gauntlet early on in the season. The Horned Frogs swept New Haven and scored 46 runs over the three contests with the school.

In the final game of that series, Cole Cramer picked up three hits, while Chase Brunson had two.

Kentucky jumped into the top-25 after a clean sweep this past weekend against St. John’s (NY). Pitching has been the story for the Wildcats, as Ben Cleaver, Nate Harris, and Jaxon Jelkin all have sub-2.00 ERA figures.

As for USC, the Trojans are a perfect 11-0 to start the season. USC took down Cal Poly in a four-game sweep to finish off the third weekend undefeated. Junior Mason Edwards has 31 strikeouts on the season, third-most in Division I.
