The final full week of July for the 2026 fantasy baseball season is in the books. This next week will decide a lot, simply because the Trade Deadline could shake things up both among the league’s playoff contenders and for fantasy players. So, here’s a look at our Week 17 fantasy baseball hitter targets.
Best Week 17 hitters to target
- 2B/3B/OF Tommy Edman (Dodgers)
- 1B Ty France (Padres)
- 1B/3B Isaac Paredes (Astros)
- OF Luis Robert Jr. (Mets)
- 2B/SS Brayan Rocchio (Guardians)
At some point, we should probably give Brayan Rocchio his flowers for being an under-the-radar asset in fantasy.
Heading into action on July 26, Rocchio hit .276 with four home runs and three stolen bases over the last month. And on the year, Rocchio has 15 stolen bases and is closing in on a double-digit home run season.
Now, all of that may not sound amazing. However, Rocchio just hits, as he started the second half with hits in five straight games and six of nine.
Isaac Paredes had a big week, as the corner infielder had at least one hit in seven of his first nine games back. Four of those were multi-hit efforts, and Paredes had two home runs in that stretch.
Tommy Edman had a very good road trip for the Dodgers. Edman capped it off with two hits on the 26th, and since the break concluded, he had six RBI and two-three-hit contests. With all of the talent in the Dodgers’ lineup, Edman’s been one of the club’s better hitters over the past two weeks.
Lastly, Ty France has not been contained since the break. France had hits in nine of his last 10, and seven of those featured him picking up two hits. But more importantly, France had a power surge that he likely won’t continue. He hit five home runs in that span, four of which came in hitter-friendly Atlanta.
Still, ride the hot wave while you still can.
Lastly, Luis Robert Jr. is a highly volatile asset, and he’s only listed here as a speculative play. Given that Robert Jr. may very well be moved against over the next week, he could do well if he can be placed in the right place with protection around him. After all, he did pick up two home runs in his first games back from the IL.
But, with Robert Jr., be mindful that nothing is a guarantee with him, despite his talent.
Overview of Week 16
Well, Curtis Mead‘s fantasy value just jumped.
Mead, on our 2026 Week 16 target list, had eight hits in seven games over the first week back from the break. And now, thanks to a trade that sent him to Boston on July 26, Mead could do very well as a right-handed hitter in Fenway Park.
Ryan Jeffers capped off a two-home run, seven RBI week with three hits against the Athletics on July 26. He remains a highly valuable player at a position that is a tough one in fantasy, for many reasons.
Ezequiel Duran and Kyle Karros also had very good weeks.
