Unfortunately, an injury happened during the exhibition game known as the 2026 All-Star Game on July 14. Junior Caminero, the third baseman for the Rays, had to be removed from the Midsummer Classic after a hit by pitch.

Caminero left All-Star Game

Rays third baseman Junior Caminero was removed after he was hit on the hand by a Riley O’Brien fastball during the third inning of the 2026 All-Star Game. Caminero stayed down for a minute before he sprinted off the field.

During the All-Star Game broadcast, it was announced that X-rays came back negative.

Rehab assignments

Ronald Acuna Jr. went 0-3 with a strikeout for the FCL Braves. Ha-Seong Kim went 0-1 with a walk.

The Twins had two rehabbing pitchers in the FCL. Cole Sands struck out two over one scoreless inning, while Garrett Acton allowed three earned runs over .1 IP.

Nationals pitcher Trevor Williams struck out five over two scoreless innings for the team’s FCL affiliate. Max Kranick, who also pitched in that game, gave up two earned runs over 1.1 IP.

Dodgers closer Edwin Diaz struck out two over a scoreless inning in the ACL.

Other notes

Royals pitcher Nick Mears was transferred to the 60-day IL.
