July 21 saw several notables land on the IL, including Jack Flaherty and Joshua Kuroda-Grauer, who went down a day earlier due to a very painful injury. But the Red Sox could get one of their injured players back on July 22.

Suarez could return very soon

The Red Sox did not play on July 21, as rain was seemingly the only element that could stop the team over the past two weeks. But interim manager Chad Tracy noted that Ranger Suarez could start for Boston on the 22nd during what will be a doubleheader against the Orioles.

Suarez was originally scheduled to return on the 21st, a little over two weeks after his last start on July 5. However, that was pushed back (h/t Boston Globe).

Jung removed

Rangers third baseman Josh Jung was pulled on July 21 with left calf tightness.

IL moves

One day after Athletics infielder Joshua Kuroda-Grauer fouled a ball below the belt, he was placed on the 10-day IL due to ruptured testicle surgery recovery.

Additionally, the Athletics placed reliever Mark Leiter Jr. on the 15-day IL with a right hip impingement.

White Sox catcher Kyle Teel is expected to miss six to 12 weeks, per manager Will Venable. Teel was placed on the IL with a left ankle sprain.

Tigers pitcher Jack Flaherty went on the IL with right flexor inflammation.

Giants pitcher Trevor McDonald was placed on the 15-day IL with a right elbow sprain.

Phillies catcher Garrett Stubbs was placed on the injured list with left wrist inflammation.

Diamondbacks pitcher Drey Jameson was placed on the IL with right hip inflammation.

Red Sox pitcher Zack Kelly (right elbow inflammation) was placed on the 60-day IL.

Will Smith (neck) was transferred to the 60-day IL.

Rehab assignments

Ronald Acuna Jr. went 1-4 with a run scored for Triple-A Gwinnett. Additionally, Ha-Seong Kim also went 1-4 with a run scored.

Brewers infielder David Hamilton went 1-3 for Triple-A Nashville.

Rangers reliever Chris Martin tossed a scoreless inning for Triple-A Round Rock.

Guardians outfielder Angel Martinez went 2-4 with a home run for Double-A Akron. Also in that game, Tim Herrin walked two, allowed a hit, and conceded three runs over 0.1 IP.

Tigers infielder Javier Baez went 1-2 for Low-A Lakeland.

Pirates first baseman Spencer Horwitz went 1-1 with two walks for Low-A Bradenton.
