The 2026 All-Star Game break arrived on July 12, as the final games before the Midsummer Classic concluded on the same day. The good news is that there were few injuries on the day. However, Emerson Hancock was removed early against the Rays. And Jacob Misiorowski won’t be ready after the break concludes.

Misiorowski to sit out next weekend

We do have an update on how the Brewers will handle Jacob Misiorowski, who didn’t pitch on the 12th after he was scratched due to fatigue.

The plan is to have Misiorowski resume throwing on the 14th. However, he will not make a start during the Brewers’ first second-half series versus the Marlins (h/t Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel).

Hancock removed in St. Pete

Mariners pitcher Emerson Hancock was removed in the second inning on July 12 due to a bruised finger. X-rays on Hancock’s hand came back negative (h/t Seattle Times).

The injury occurred when Hancock attempted to field a comebacker with his right hand.

IL moves

The Diamondbacks placed pitcher Zac Gallen on the 15-day IL with right elbow inflammation, retroactive to July 9.

Reds pitcher Nick Lodolo went on the 15-day IL with a blister on his left index finger.

Rangers reliever Chris Martin was placed on the 15-day IL with a right shoulder impingement.

Marlins reliever William Kempner was placed on the 15-day IL with a right elbow sprain.

Brandon Woodruff (right shoulder inflammation) was transferred to the 60-day IL.

Rehab assignments

The Mets had two rehabbers with Double-A Binghamton. Marcus Semien went 2-3 with a home run and three RBI. Luis Robert Jr. went 2-6 with an RBI and three strikeouts.

Rangers pitcher Cody Bradford walked two over a scoreless inning for Double-A Frisco.

Other notes

Orioles infielder Blaze Alexander suffered a hand fracture on July 12.

Marlins reliever Michael Petersen was removed with hamstring tightness.

Mets 3B/SS Bo Bichette (leg) didn’t start for the third straight game on July 12. But just like on July 11, Bichette came in as a pinch-hitter.

Justin Crawford (knee) sat for the third straight game on the 12th for the Phillies.
