Ramirez suffers hamate bone fracture

Jose Ramirez is headed to the injured list after he suffered a broken hamate bone on June 13.

Ramirez is not the only player to deal with that injury this season, as Corbin Carroll, Jackson Holliday, & Francisco Lindor are among the individuals to suffer one this season.

Stanton suffers setback

The Yankees will have DH Giancarlo Stanton undergo imaging in the very near future after he suffered a setback from a calf injury.

Stanton suffered discomfort in his calf while running this week.

IL moves

One day after Trent Grisham (hamstring strain) and Spencer Strider (elbow inflammation) left their respective games with injuries, both were placed on the injured list.

The Pirates placed rookie Wilber Dotel on the IL with a right lat muscle strain.

Jack Flaherty was placed on the 15-day IL with a leg strain.

An oblique strain forced Rangers outfielder Evan Carter to the 10-day IL.

Padres OF/DH Miguel Andujar was placed on the injured list with a left hamstring strain.

Rehab assignments

Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh went 2-4 with two home runs for Triple-A Tacoma.

Braves catcher Drake Baldwin went 1-3 with a home run for Triple-A Gwinnett.

White Sox reliever Jordan Hicks struck out two over one scoreless inning for Triple-A Charlotte.

Giants reliever Matt Gage struck out two over 1.2 IP with Low-A San Jose.

Other notes

Red Sox outfielder Roman Anthony indicated that he’s still dealing with pain when he attempts to swing a baseball bat.

Blue Jays 1B Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (back tightness) sat on June 13 versus the Yankees.

Corey Seager (rib/jaw) and Randy Arozarena (hamstring) were also out for the Rangers and Mariners, respectively.
