Ohtani not in lineup for Dodgers
Shohei Ohtani did not play for the Dodgers on June 12, one day after he was dealing with left knee inflammation.
The Dodgers confirmed that imaging on his knee came back clean, and Dave Roberts hoped that the two-way star would return on the 13th against the White Sox.
Lindor participated in simulated action
Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor took part in simulated action on June 12, as he took at-bats, ran, and played the field as he works his way back from a calf strain.
The team’s president of baseball operations, David Stearns, believes that Lindor can return by the end of June.
Strider leaves game
Braves pitcher Spencer Strider left his start against the Mets after 68 pitches and three-plus innings.
Per the Braves, Strider left with right arm soreness.
IL placements
The Blue Jays placed outfielder Daulton Varsho on the 10-day IL with left wrist inflammation.
Athletics OF/DH Brent Rooker was placed on the IL with a bone bruise in his left knee.
Royals pitcher Seth Lugo, who was hit with a comebacker from Brandon Nimmo off his head, was placed on the 7-day IL with a concussion.
Adolis Garcia was placed on the 60-day IL by the Phillies with a latissimus dorsi tear.
Cardinals infielder Ramon Urias was placed on the 60-day IL with right elbow lateral epicondylitis.
Chase Dollander (elbow strain) was transferred to the 60-day IL.
Rehab assignments
Pirates catcher Joey Bart went 3-4 with a home run for Triple-A Indianapolis.
Rays outfielder Jonny DeLuca went 1-2 with a walk and a run scored for Triple-A Durham.
Dodgers reliever Brock Stewart struck out two over one inning for Single-A Ontario.
Other notes
Yankees OF Trent Grisham left on June 12 due to a hamstring injury.
Rangers shortstop Corey Seager (rib/jaw) sat on June 12 and is considered day-to-day (h/t Dallas Morning News).
