Tampa Bay returned home on October 26 after two tough losses in Milwaukee for Game 3 of the 2026 World Series. The night offered the Rays a shot to get back into the series and allow Freddy Peralta a chance to secure a win against the old team in his new home. However, Game 3 ended with a convincing Brewers victory, thanks to a massive rally in the fifth inning.
Brewers blow out Rays at the Trop
The Brewers took Game 3 by a score of 10-1.
No runs were scored in this game until the third inning, when Milwaukee saw Jackson Chourio and Jake Bauers reach. Christian Yelich fisted a 96 MPH fastball from Freddy Peralta the other way to score Chourio. Later on, William Contreras was late on another Peralta fastball but it got down to score Bauers, making it 2-0.
Brewers starter Robert Gasser held it 2-0 until the fifth, when the Brewers opened things up.
With two outs in the fifth inning, William Contreras hit a sharp ground ball to third, and Junior Caminero went to second for the force. It was originally ruled an out. However, it was determined via instant replay that Christian Yelich beat the throw to second, nullifying the force.
Brice Turang took advantage with a two-run single, making it 4-0. Garrett Mitchell drove in one run with an RBI single. Cooper Pratt took one down the left field line to bring in two more, before Sal Frelick, David Hamilton, and Jackson Chourio all recorded RBI hits to bring down the hammer.
All in all, the Brewers scored all of that offense with just one recorded barrel on the day. That was from Christian Yelich, which resulted in a lineout to Jonny DeLuca in the sixth.
Back to Gasser, the left-hander had just three swings-and-misses but had 20 called strikes for a 30.7% CSW%. He allowed just one hit and one walk, along with three strikeouts, over six innings.
Antonio Senzatela tossed two scoreless innings after Gasser departed. Brandon Woodruff, who was added to the World Series roster after missing more than three months on the IL, closed out the game with an inning pitched. He struck out one and allowed the only run of the game for Tampa Bay.
