It’s been a pretty good start for the Washington Nationals this season. The Nats picked up their third win of the 2026 campaign on March 30, blowing out division rival Philadelphia. Meanwhile, up north in Toronto, the Rockies’ offense exploded for their first win of the young season.

Nationals blow out Phillies

The Nationals defeated the Phillies 13-2 to move to 3-1 on the 2026 season.

Washington’s offense pushed four runs across on Taijuan Walker in the first inning, and then added three more by the end of the third inning. Every single National had at least one hit in the game, and all but two (Drew Millas & James Wood) had at least two in the contest.

Foster Griffin (18.6% Whiff%) struck out five over five and earned his first win of the 2026 season. Griffin came back over to North America after a successful stint with the Yomiuri Giants of the NPB.

As for the Phillies, the offense remains cold. Bryce Harper (41.7% Whiff%) went 0-5 and dropped his 2026 average to .063. In fact, the top four of Philadelphia’s lineup went 1-17 in the contest.

Rockies get first win of 2026

The Rockies won 14-5 against the Blue Jays on March 30.

It was a big day for the Rockies’ offense, which dealt with the Blue Jays’ bullpen for most of the game after Cody Ponce (51.7% Whiff%) departed the game due to injury. Troy Johnston and Braxton Fulford both went deep. Ezequiel Tovar and TJ Rumfield each had three hits.

Chase Dollander notched the victory. Dollander piggybacked Tomoyuki Sugano and threw the final four innings of the game. The right-hander struck out five but gave up three home runs and four overall runs.

Mariners walk off Yankees

Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh hit a walk-off single off Paul Blackburn to give Seattle a 2-1 victory against the Yankees.

Both starting pitchers threw well. Luis Castillo (37% Whiff%) struck out seven over six strong innings, while Ryan Weathers (30.6% Whiff%) punched out seven over 4.1 IP. The Yankees’ left-hander exited after 77 pitches on the night.
