After the conclusion of the 2026 World Baseball Classic, the top prospects from all 30 MLB teams will participate in the annual Spring Breakout event. There will be a lot of prospect overload in the event, to say the least. So, we’ll point out four prospects from each team to watch out for, starting with the National League. Our list includes both elite names and some under-the-radar ones to keep an eye on.

NL East

It’s all about the pitchers for the Braves. JR Ritchie and Didier Fuentes, the latter of whom was on the Braves last season, are fighting for roster spots. We may also get a first look at prospect Briggs McKenzie, who was given a seven-figure bonus out of high school.

For the Marlins, Karson Milbrandt may be one of the most underrated pitching prospects in the game. He’ll be joined by 2025 first-rounders Aiva Arquette and Cam Cannarella, plus Robby Snelling. Snelling is fighting for a roster spot.

Ryan Lambert is a flamethrower. Lambert, who was one of the best swing-and-miss pitchers in the Eastern League last season, is a heavy fastball/slider pitcher who regularly pumps 98-99 MPH. Watch out for power-hitting catcher Chris Suero and funky pitcher Will Watson, both of whom did very well in A-ball last season.

Those who read our Rangers farm review from last season know how good a year Devin Fitz-Gerald had last season, despite how short it was. Fitz-Gerald, now a Nationals prospect, is one of several headlining prospects. Eli Willits and Gavin Fien will be on the team, as will slugger Ethan Petry.

Lastly, for the NL East, Andrew Painter, Aidan Miller, and Justin Crawford will be on the roster. Those three are household names. But players that may not be for the Phillies include 2025 draft picks Matthew Fisher and Gage Wood, plus toolsy infielder Aroon Escobar.

NL Central

Even though we’re trying to highlight some prospects who are not the household names, it’ll be hard not to pay attention to Jesus Made. However, others who are not for the Brewers are 2025 first-rounder Brady Ebel, plus pitcher Bishop Letson and C/OF Marco Dinges. Both Dinges and Letson had good 2025 seasons.

Joshua Baez cut down the swing-and-miss rate during the 2025 season. Baez, despite a 41% Whiff% in camp, hit well while with the big club. The outfielder blasted a team-high three home runs. He’ll be one to watch for the Cardinals, including high-upside pitcher Brandon Clarke and, of course, JJ Wetherholt.

The Cubs will bring the big guns, including Jaxon Wiggins and Moises Ballesteros. Chicago will also bring Ethan Conrad and Kane Kepley, the Cubs’ first and second-round picks from 2025. Infielder Jefferson Rojas and catcher Owen Ayers, the latter of whom did great in the AFL, will also be on the Spring Breakout roster.

Speaking of power, Tony Blanco Jr. is one of the best in that category among Minor League players. He’ll be part of a Pirates group that’ll include Konnor Griffin and Edward Florentino, both of whom are complete players in the making. Former first-rounder Seth Hernandez will get his feet wet in pro ball.

Lastly, Mason Neville was a great power hitter at Oregon. Neville will be part of the Reds‘ Spring Breakout roster, headlined by Sal Stewart, someone whom the Cincinnati faithful got a good look at last season. Alfredo Duno and Steele Hall, who are several years away, are other names to watch.

NL West

The Diamondbacks will bring pitcher Daniel Eagen, the reigning Northwest League pitcher of the year and a good prospect, having a good spring. Eagen struck out five over 3.2 IP. Hard hammer curveball that’ll sit 80-83 MPH, along with a low-to-mid-90s fastball.

Arizona will also bring 2025 first-rounders Kayson Cunningham & Patrick Forbes, plus Demetrio Crisantes. Cristanes hit well and made a lot of contact before a season-ending injury.

The Dodgers‘ group is filled with very toolsy players. Kendall George stole over 100 bases last season, while Zyhir Hope is a plus power hitter. Zach Ehrhard & Mike Sirota, both trade acquisitions, had breakout years last season.

San Francisco will bring several of their high-end prospects, including Jhonny Level and bonus baby Josuar Gonzalez. Outfielder Bo Davidson and pitcher Jacob Breshanan both had great seasons in 2025. And how about Daniel Susac, the brother of Andrew and a Rule 5 Draft pick, fighting for a roster spot.

The Padres‘ farm system is very much in a rebuild stage after several trades gutted their depth last year. There’s still high upside, though, thanks to pitchers like Kruz Schoolcraft, Kash Mayfield, and hard-thrower Miguel Mendez.

Speaking of hard throwers, Brody Brecht is one of the headliners for the Rockies. Colorado is bringing the big guns, including Charlie Condon and Ethan Holliday. Condon has had a good spring to this point. Six extra-base hits and a sub-27% Whiff% in his first few weeks with the big club.
