Those who purchased the Deluxe Edition of MLB The Show 26 received two special packs for Diamond Dynasty. One is a Legends pack that includes three Hall of Famers, while the World Baseball Classic (WBC) pack includes eight players participating in the 2026 event. These packs are great for building an all-Diamond team in Diamond Dynasty — but which ones are the best to pick? Here’s our two cents.

WBC Pack

Here are the attributes for the eight WBC Deluxe Edition cards in MLB The Show 26:

Jazz Chisholm Jr.

87 Jazz

Edwin Diaz

87 Diaz

Jarren Duran

87 Duran

Kenley Jansen

87 Kenley

Aaron Judge

87 Judge

Manny Machado

87 Machado

Shohei Ohtani

  • 87 Ohtani hitting
  • 87 Ohtani pitching

Salvador Perez

87 Salvy Perez

It’s important to note that, unlike the Legends Pack (which we’ll get to in the next section), Diamond Dynasty players can pick two of the eight cards listed here.

Right off the bat, Kenley Jansen is a must. Jansen has a sinker/cutter/slider combo, which is very meta. Plus, a tough-to-decipher delivery thanks to his angling on the mound.

Generally speaking, relievers are usually better options in these packs. For the simple reason that these cards are lower OVR. Thus, a lower OVR reliever will likely have more long-term value than a hitter, who could be curved out via power creep shortly after the release of the game.

Shohei Ohtani, though, is a different story.

Ohtani’s card has both pitching and hitting attributes. Meaning, Ohtani can be used as a SP and a DH at the same time. His card has a very meta pitch mix, and that, coupled with his delivery, made Ohtani very difficult to hit last year.

Go with Ohtani.

Legends Pack

First, let’s show the attributes for the three cards:

Chipper Jones

87 Chipper Jones

Ken Griffey Jr.

87 Griffey Jr

Roy Halladay

87 Halladay

Chipper Jones will be a likely draw for a few reasons. One, he’s a switch-hitter. Two, Jones cards are generally very good in MLB The Show games.

However, this version is based on 2012, his final MLB season. One would expect worse attributes — but it’s pretty serviceable.

Griffey Jr. is fine for center field defensively. The power, though, is low.

Halladay ranks just below Jones on this list. The Hall of Fame pitcher is very good and worth a pickup. However, Jones is just too tempting.
