More free agents joined the market on October 30. Sonny Gray can cash in after a terrific 2026 season, while Dustin May and Josh Bell are among the other high-profile names who have a shot at cashing in after notable seasons this past year.

May, Gray among new free agents

Officially, 11 players became free agents on October 30 after their options were resolved. Those players were Matthew Boyd and Carson Kelly of the Cubs, Michael King of the Padres, plus Zach Eflin, Sonny Gray, Ryan Weiss, Carlos Estevez, Robert Stephenson, Dustin May, Josh Bell, and Victor Robles.

News on King, Boyd, and Robles broke on the 29th. But the biggest name amongst this group is Gray, who posted a 2.72 ERA and tied Cristopher Sanchez for the MLB lead in wins (18).

Gray was acquired from the Cardinals in November 2025.

The list also includes Stephenson, who missed all of 2026, and Eflin & Estevez, two pitchers who made just one appearance last year.

Eflin re-signed with the O’s in December 2025 but made one start in March before he was shut down with elbow discomfort. Estevez battled numerous injuries in 2026, including a foot contusion that originally landed him on the IL in April. Not to mention, a big velocity drop in the preseason that carried over to his lone outing in the regular season.

Dustin May had a largely resurgent season in 2026, despite a 4.70 ERA. May struck out 144 over 145.2 IP between St. Louis and Milwaukee.

Josh Bell notched 50 extra-base hits and 96 total RBI for the Twins in 2026.
