With a full slate of games on June 2, there were plenty of transactions made. Among them included first-time Major League call-ups, plus a trade that went down late on June 1 between the Twins & Pirates.

Twins make trade

The Twins acquired Justin Lawrence late on June 1 in a deal with Pittsburgh.

Lawrence was previously designated for assignment by the Pirates.

Contracts selected

Aside from Kade Morris, there were several players called up for what will be their eventual Major League debuts.

The Padres promoted Jace Bowen from Triple-A San Diego. Bowen, signed by San Diego on a Minor League deal this past November, hit 13 home runs for El Paso, tied for second in the Pacific Coast League. He was in San Diego’s starting lineup on the 2nd.

Zach McCambley had his contract selected by the Reds. Cincinnati acquired the reliever & former Rule 5 pick when the Reds sent Rece Hinds to Miami.

Beck Way, acquired by the Royals four years ago for Andrew Benintendi, was called up by the Royals. Way, a reliever, struck out 42 over 30 innings for Triple-A Omaha.
