January 11 marked the deadline for MLB teams to exchange figures during the arbitration process. Players that have played anywhere between three to six years are eligible for arbitration, as well as certain individuals that earned “Super Two” status. This deadline typically leads to teams settling to avoid the arbitration process and that was indeed the case. Here’s a look at the notable moves.

Here’s a look at the notable arbitration deals made on January 11:
- Orioles re-sign OF Anthony Santander ($11.7MM)
- Diamondbacks re-sign 1B Christian Walker ($10.9MM) and RP Paul Sewald ($7.35MM)
- White Sox re-sign SP Dylan Cease ($8MM)
- Brewers re-sign SS Willy Adames ($12.55MM)
- Braves re-sign SP Max Fried ($15MM)
- Guardians re-sign SP Shane Bieber ($13.125MM)
- Astros re-sign SP Framber Valdez ($12.1MM)
- Astros re-sign OF Kyle Tucker ($12MM)
- Mets re-sign 1B Pete Alonso ($20.5MM)
- Dodgers re-sign SP Walker Buehler ($8.025MM)

Other notable names who also re-signed and avoided arbitration include Astros righty Luis Garcia ($1.875MM), Ryan Helsley ($3.8MM), Dustin May ($2.135MM), Josh Naylor ($6.5MM), Lane Thomas ($5.45MM), Cedric Mullins ($6.325MM), Jonah Heim ($3.05MM), and Tarik Skubal ($2.65MM).
All deals are one-year pacts unless otherwise noted.
On the other hand, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Adolis Garcia, Alec Bohm, Austin Hays, Jazz Chisholm Jr. did not reach an agreement.
The Rays also reportedly re-signed SP Shane McClanahan to a two-year, $7.2MM deal. McClanahan will miss all of 2024 thanks to Tommy John surgery.
