Thanks to a strong farm system, the Cleveland Guardians have been able to remain a competitive team for the past decade. And with 2026 near, the Guardians could see the next wave of young prospects in talent at Progressive Field very soon. Travis Bazzana & Cooper Ingle are among the Guardians’ non-roster players for 2026 Spring Training.
The prospects
The headliner among the group is Travis Bazzana, the first overall pick from the 2024 MLB Draft.
Bazzana had an injury-shortened 2025 season but performed well overall. Across two levels, Bazzana slashed .245/.389/.424 with nine home runs and 31 extra-base hits over 84 games. Four of his home runs came in 26 contests with Triple-A last season.
Arguably the best prospect in the Guardians‘ system, Bazzana is very much a potential impact player. The 23-year-old hit for plenty of power in college and likely can be an above-average power hitter for a second baseman. Additionally, he controls the strike zone extremely well. His 13.2% Chase% in Triple-A was the best at the level last season (min. 250 pitches outside).
The other two notable hitting prospects in Cleveland’s non-roster camp are catcher Cooper Ingle and first baseman Ralphy Velazquez.
Ingle may very well be the Guardians’ catcher of the future. Between Double-A and Triple-A, Ingle slashed .260/.389/.491 with 10 home runs and 46 extra-base hits.
As we noted in our Eastern League numbers review, Ingle ranked in the top five in terms of take percentage. That discipline has been a major asset in terms of his ability to get on base. Ingle walked more (86) than he struck out (85) last season.
Defensively, Ingle made two errors and allowed four passed balls last season. However, he also posted a 17% CS%.
Velazquez had a mammoth year at the plate. Between High-A and Double-A, the former first-round pick hit 22 combined home runs. The 20-year-old, in a small sample size, cracked 17 home runs and a .994 OPS over 28 games with Akron.
The rest of the Guardians’ non-roster hitter troupe includes Milan Tolentino, Dayan Frias, outfielders Wuilfredo Antunez and Alfonsin Rosario, plus catchers Cameron Barstad, Jacob Cozart, and Kody Huff.
Cleveland’s non-roster pitcher list includes Ryan Webb, Will Dion, Tanner Burns, Jack Leftwich, Tommy Mace, Jake Miller, Steven Perez, Trenton Denholm, and Aaron Davenport.
Other names
Catcher Dom Nunez was in the Guardians’ system last year and will return to the organization as a non-roster invite for 2026. Speedy outfielder Stu Fairchild will also join the hitters.
Former Guardian Trevor Stephan will look to break the Guardians’ camp as a non-roster player. He’ll be joined by fellow former Guardian Pedro Avila, plus relievers Carlos Hernandez and Codi Heuer.
