The Diamondbacks were one of several teams to confirm their non-roster list for Spring Training on January 30. The list includes Ryan Waldschmidt, plus several other high-end prospects in Arizona’s system.

The prospects

Arizona’s prospect list is mostly comprised of players who at least spent some time in Double-A and Triple-A. That includes Ryan Waldschmidt, arguably the best prospect in the D-Backs’ farm system.

Waldschmidt had a big year in 2025 between High-A and Double-A, as the 23-year-old slashed .289/.419/.473 with 18 home runs, 29 stolen bases, and 49 extra-base hits across 134 games. A potential impact hitter with power and strike-zone discipline. Waldschmidt could be a factor for Arizona as early as this coming season.

Tommy Troy was a first-round pick for the Diamondbacks in 2023. Since then, he’s done nothing but hit. Last season between Double-A and Triple-A, Troy slashed .289/.382/.451 with 15 home runs, 24 stolen bases, and 47 extra-base hits over 125 games.

The 24-year-old is a consistent contact hitter (18.1% Whiff% in Triple-A) and one who doesn’t expand (24.8%) out of the zone too much.

Troy was a shortstop by trade. However, Arizona moved him to second base full-time in 2025. He also saw 19 starts in center.

Those two will be joined by LuJames Groover and Kristian Robinson, two of the better performers in Arizona’s system last season, as well as Ivan Melendez, Cristofer Torin, Ben McLaughlin, Gavin Logan, and A.J. Vukovich.

We also can’t forget about Druw Jones, the D-Backs’ 2022 first-rounder. As we noted in our Diamondbacks farm review for last season, Jones continues to hit a lot of groundballs, as he sported a GB% above 50% with Hillsboro.

The crop of pitching prospects will be headlined by Daniel Eagan, who saw his stock soar last season. Eagan struck out 132 batters for the Hops last season and wound up winning the Northwest League Pitcher of the Year honor.

Yu-Min Lin, Spencer Giesting, Alfred Morillo, Hayden Durke, and Landon Sims will also be with the big club.

Other notables

Perhaps the most notable name on the D-Backs’ non-roster list is Jonathan Loaisiga, the ex-Yankees reliever.

Loaisiga is a hard-thrower and a valuable sinkerballer throughout his tenure as a Yankee. However, he’s dealt with elbow and back problems over the last three years.

Aside from Loaisiga, Bryce Jarvis, Thomas Hatch, Derek Law, Tommy Henry, Junior Fernandez, Shawn Dubin, Isaiah Campbell, John Curtiss, and Taylor Rashi all have MLB experience.

Hitters on the Diamondbacks’ 2026 non-roster list who have past MLB experience include Ildemaro Vargas, Luken Baker, Aramis Garcia, and Jacob Amaya.
