A new week of Minor League Baseball started on August 11 — and that meant more promotions. Former Alabama star Justin Lebron joined High-A Dayton, while Cameron Flukey & Eric Booth Jr. were also assigned affiliates.
More 2026 picks assigned affiliates
The Reds promoted Justin Lebron, the club’s first-round pick from 2026, to High-A. Lebron will join a select few 2026 MLB Draft picks currently in High-A. Roch Cholowsky (White Sox), Jake Schaffner, and Owen Hull (Red Sox) were also pushed to that level.
Detroit, meanwhile, moved Cameron Flukey to Low-A Lakeland, alongside Maddox Molony. Flukey will have a late opportunity to make up some innings, as he only made seven starts (24 innings) in a season where he was hurt for most of it.
The Orioles promoted outfielder Eric Booth Jr. to Low-A Delmarva, part of a significant shuffle of prospects made by the organization. Booth Jr. was the seventh-overall pick in the 2026 MLB Draft.
Other notable picks pushed up were Ethan McElvain and Justin LeGuernic, two of Kansas City’s top-10 picks, Diamondbacks outfielder Paul Schoenfeld, Cubs pitcher Chase Meyer, and Padres infielder Chris McHugh. Aside from McElvain, who was promoted to High-A, all were moved to Low-A.
Top prospects shuttled up
After 17 games in Double-A, Josue Briceno was promoted to Triple-A. Briceno missed most of 2026 due to injury but hit well upon his return. The Tigers catching prospect hit eight home runs with Erie.
Guardians prospect Jace Laviolette was promoted to Double-A Akron. Laviolette leaves the Midwest League with 19 home runs for Lake County. The problem, though, was significant swing-and-miss. The Texas A&M draft pick had a league-high 147 strikeouts over 83 contests.
Yankees pitching prospect Xavier Rivas was moved up to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Rivas, amidst a breakout season in Double-A, had 114 strikeouts over 81.1 IP. That total was third-most in the Eastern League.
D-Backs prospect Wellington Aracena was promoted to Double-A Amarillo. The hard-throwing righty struck out 81 over 76 innings for High-A Hillsboro.
Rockies infielder Wilder Dalis was promoted to High-A Spokane. Dalis had 15 home runs, 22 stolen bases, and 36 extra-base hits in the hitter-friendly California League this season.
Red Sox infielder Henry Godbout was pushed up to Double-A Portland. Godbout only played 34 games in High-A Greenville this season, missing most of the year due to injury. However, the 2025 second-rounder hit well with the Drive. He slashed .277/.410/.492 with 14 extra-base hits over 34 contests.
Back to Baltimore, JT Quinn (Double-A) and Jordan Sanchez (High-A) were moved up.
Additionally, the Blue Jays officially promoted 2025 first-rounder JoJo Parker to High-A Vancouver. Johnny King, one of the better pitching prospects in the Toronto system, was shuttled to Double-A New Hampshire.
