MLB The Show 24 developer Sony San Diego released a new ratings update on July 26. This one, per SDS, included hitting, pitching, as well as fielding, and pitch mix updates. And, six players went Diamond in the latest ratings update. Among them included the 2024 Home Run Derby winner and a dominant rookie in Pittsburgh.
Diamond Dynasty Ratings Update for July 26
Six players went Diamond in the July 26 ratings update for MLB The Show 24. Those five would be Jack Flaherty (86 OVR, +2), Logan Gilbert (86 OVR, +2), Paul Skenes (85 OVR, +2), Teoscar Hernandez (85 OVR, +1), George Kirby (85 OVR, +1), and Brenton Doyle (85 OVR, +4).
Arguably the most notable name above is Skenes, who’s ninth in the Majors in pitcher bWAR (3.4) despite not being in the Majors until May. Skenes went 6-1 with a 1.97 ERA, 97 strikeouts, and walked 13 over his first 74.2 IP.
Jack Flaherty, a popular name on the trading block, is tied for ninth in the Majors in strikeouts (133) amidst a strong 2024 campaign.
Brenton Doyle, meanwhile, broke out in his second Major League season, Doyle cut down his strikeout rate by double digits compared to 2023 and he belted 17 home runs and had a .822 OPS over his first 98 games of the year.
Several other big names received jumps. Aaron Judge (94 OVR, +2), Bobby Witt Jr. (93 OVR, +4), Bryce Harper (93 OVR, +2), Juan Soto (91 OVR, +3), and Tarik Skubal (91 OVR, +1) all got boosts. For what it’s worth, those five names were 2024 MLB All-Stars.
Carlos Correa (83 OVR, +4), Zach Neto (81 OVR, +4), Carson Kelly (81 OVR, +7), Taj Bradley (81 OVR, +5), and Heliot Ramos (80 OVR, +5) were among the notable non-Diamond upgrades.
As for the downgrades, Ranger Suarez (84 OVR, -1), William Contreras (84 OVR, -1), Cody Bellinger (83 OVR, -2), Josh Naylor (83 OVR, -2), Luis Castillo (82 OVR, -3), and Tanner Houck (82 OVR, -3) all dropped to Golds.
