On February 10, the MLB The Show 26 team and Sony released the second “Fielding Feedback” trailer for the game. This one focused on Road to the Show (RTTS), the role-playing career mode. Last year’s version of RTTS saw a major shakeup, as far as player upgrades and college was concerned. This year’s RTTS will focus on quality-of-life enhancements, as well as the Baseball Hall of Fame.
New schools
Last year, Sony introduced new colleges to MLB The Show. LSU, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Texas, UCLA, Cal State Fullerton, and TCU were among the schools that players could pick.

For ’26, the high school/college experience has been expanded upon. UNC, Stanford, Michigan, Florida, Arkansas, Virginia, Oregon State, Florida State, Fresno State, Wake Forest, and Clemson are the new entrants.
Additionally, the branding for the NCAA Division I College World Series, as well as Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, has also been added.
Perk and team influences
Perks and team influence were two of the most-touched-upon topics for ’26.
Individuals will be able to choose short and long-term goals within RTTS, which will allow players to unlock more Tokens.

Additionally, the Perks screen has been modified. Now, the game will display specific requirements needed to unlock each one, as well as what each equip does to a player’s character.
There will also reportedly be more control for one’s player.
Individuals will be able to request trades, a feature that’s been in past games but has largely acted as a random event triggered by the agent. There will also be prompts where players can talk to coaches & ask about a position change.
Breakpoint simulations
Sony has introduced new breakpoint simulations for MLB The Show 26 Road to the Show. This was done so that players can get the perks of playing through games without needing to physically play through each contest.
This option can be enabled in the calendar section of Road to the Show.
Users can simulate through sections of games in MLB The Show 26, just like past titles. However, the sim has been re-worked to allow for actual progress, like unlocking currency that can be used to unlock boosts for the mode.

One’s performance will be based on momentum, as there will also be an adjusted OVR that can’t be lower than a player’s actual OVR. The adjusted OVR is based on a player’s past 10 games played.
Hall of Fame in ’26
Also new to MLB The Show 26 is the ability to get inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Hall of Fame induction concepts aren’t new to sports games, as they are something that’s been in other titles (i.e., Madden in the 2000s). Nor is it how it’ll work in this year’s game.

In the trailer, Sony highlighted that there will be an in-game tracker, including a chart that shows a player’s trajectory to becoming a potential Hall of Fame. It includes the current status, a dotted line that shows potential based on performance, and a score on the left-hand side.
