How to make progress

Just like in past years, individuals can receive XP just by playing MLB The Show.

Individuals can earn XP by playing single-player modes, like Franchise & Road to the Show. However, there are a lot of earnable XP bonuses through programs, like the Multiplayer Program & Themed Programs.

Mini-Bosses & Bosses

Mini-bosses, which are bosses before the main ones, are back for MLB The Show 26. For the 1st Inning Program, there are two: 88 OVR Gleyber Torres and 89 OVR Kyle Schwarber.

It was confirmed on the 12th that, unlike in ’25, these mini-bosses are sellable.

Yamamoto is one of the three bosses. However, for ’26, things are a little different. One boss is guaranteed through the Inning path. Then, players will have the choice to choose from one of two sellable bosses:

The two bosses in the Choice Pack are:

Ronald Acuna Jr.

Murakami, now with the White Sox, receives another Inning Boss card as a Team Japan player. He did in ’23 during Season 1.
