Over the winter, the baseball community lost Pirates legend and Hall of Fame infielder Bill Mazeroski. Mazeroski made an indelible impact on the game. And to honor his legacy, the Sony San Diego team for MLB The Show 26 released a Bill Mazeroski Player Program on launch day. Inside the program is an XP bonus, plus an 85 OVR Mazeroski that serves as an early-game Diamond option at second base.
Bill Mazeroski Program reward path
Here’s a look at the rewards in the MLB The Show 26 Mazeroski tribute program path:
- 5 Points: MLB The Show 26 pack
- 9 Points: 85 OVR 2nd Half Bill Mazeroski & 5,000 XP
Yes, that’s it. This is a tribute program, meaning the path won’t be very long, and it’s meant to be done relatively quickly. Here’s a look at the 85 OVR Mazeroski:

This card is non-sellable.
How to make progress
Now, a look at the tasks:
- Complete one Moment (5 pts.)
- Hit one home run in Diamond Dynasty (4 pts.)
You do have to do the moment in order to get the 85 OVR Mazeroski. Luckily, it’s not anything crazy. All that has to be done is get on base once in a game on Veteran difficulty.
Any home run hit in 1v1 Ranked, 2v2 & 3v3 co-op, Battle Royale, Events, Diamond Quest, Mini Seasons, & Conquest games will work towards the stat mission.
Now, for those who are thinking about just skipping it because Mazeroski isn’t interesting, consider one thing. Every couple of times a year, Sony will update the Legends & Flashbacks collection and set requirements to collect cards from all different series in Diamond Dynasty.
This card will be needed for the 2nd Half card collection.
