New to MLB The Show 26 is the addition of Robert Flores as a second option for commentary in the game. In past installments, there’s been only one announce team (not including MiLB in Road to the Show), with Jon Sciambi and Chris Singleton filling that role since 2022. But for those who don’t want to hear a specific commentator(s) or don’t want to hear it at all, here’s what you can do about it.

Changing the commentary

To change the commentary in Diamond Dynasty in MLB The Show 26, you’ll have to keep an eye out for the box that pops up on the right side of the screen, just before searching for a game. This pops up after choosing a stadium to play in, either in 1v1 Ranked or co-op.

Once finding the ‘Commentary Crew’ modifier, flip through it to choose either Flores’ commentary of the duo of Sciambi & Singleton.

This has to be done on a game-by-game basis. Flores is the default announcer in Diamond Dynasty, although players are still free to chose the two-man team if so desired.

We should note that Flores is only in Diamond Dynasty. For classic and Franchise Mode, Sciambi and Singleton are the default announcers in MLB The Show 26.

Muting it

Alternatively, one could also mute the in-game commentary altogether in MLB The Show 26.

To do this, go to the in-game settings. The easiest way to find it is by selecting the ‘Settings’ icon on the top-right part of the home screen. Then, select ‘User Settings.’

From that point, scroll through the options with RB/R1 until the ‘Audio’ section is found. Then, locate the ‘Commentary Volume’ setting.

Turning this setting all the way down will mute the volume for all game modes, not just for single-player gameplay but online, as well. This is an option for those who don’t want any commentary in the background and just want to play the game.
