Here’s a look at our best MLB bets for April 9 (odds via BetMGM New York Sportsbook):
- Aaron Judge over 1.5 bases (+110)
- Aaron Civale over 5.5 strikeouts (-115)
It’s been a quiet start for Aaron Judge, who enters the day on April 9 with a .175 average and .708 OPS. Judge will face A.J. Puk, who Judge is 0-2 in his career, and the Marlins.
Judge doesn’t have drastically different splits against lefties as compared to righties, as his career OPS of .983 against LHP is about the same as his OPS (.977) versus RHP. However, Puk has not pitched well to this point, making this somewhat of a favorable matchup.
Our second best bet is on Aaron Civale hitting the over on strikeouts against the Angels, a team with a 23.9% K% in the early parts of 2024.
Civale has struck out at least six batters in his two lone outings in 2024, and his last six of nine outings dating back to August 2023.
