It’s September 4 across Major League Baseball. Last night saw a wild night of action, highlighted by Kyle Schwarber’s three-home run night and a 105.5 MPH fastball courtesy of Ben Joyce. A new night of games is upon us but what looks good on the betting front? Here are our best MLB bets for September 4, 2024.

Best hitter props

Let’s start with our best hit props:

The Nationals will face right-hander starter Valente Bellozo on the 4th, an interesting matchup given he’s yielded about a hit (41 over 41.2 IP) per inning. Bellozo handles left-handed hitters (.222/.291/.347) very well, hence why we’ll go with Dylan Crews to record at least one hit. Crews has at least one hit in four of his last five contests.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. continued his rampage on September 3, as he notched four more hits and a home run. He’ll face a lefty on September 4, good news given he’s batting .337 this season against left-handed pitchers.

Best pitcher props

Astros starter Spencer Arrighetti has been one of the game’s best pitchers over the past month. Arrighetti recorded 35 strikeouts over 26.1 IP over the last month, along with a 2.05 ERA and 0.84 WHIP. And as far as strikeouts are concerned, he’s picked up at least six in five of his last six outings.

He’ll face the Reds, who are eighth in the league in K% (24.4%).

Meanwhile, in Toronto, Cristopher Sanchez will take the hill in an afternoon game for the Phillies. Sanchez’s outs marker is high, especially when taking into account he’s recorded more than 18 outs once in his last 10 outings. He’s effective at pounding the zone but that also means baserunners. In his last 10 outings, Sanchez surrendered seven or more hits.

Best moneylines

  • Orioles ML (-350)
  • Padres ML (-210)

The O’s will look to take down the White Sox again on September 4. Baltimore scored 22 games over the first two games of this series, compared to Chicago’s three runs. Albert Suarez will take the hill against Jonathan Cannon of the White Sox.

San Diego, meanwhile, will have Yu Darvish return to the mound to face the Tigers. It’s a friendly matchup at home against a Detroit team that entered play on the day 20th in the league in runs scored (582), tied with the Cardinals and Pirates.
