It’s been a great stretch for the Mets, who currently hold the best record in baseball at 21-9. However, one of the Mets’ big offseason acquisitions not named Juan Soto could be out for the rest of 2025, as A.J. Minter may need season-ending surrgery.
Update on Minter
Manager Carlos Mendoza said before the Mets’ win on April 29 that reliever A.J. Minter could need surgery after sustaining a lat strain this past weekend. Mendoza described the injury as “significant.”
Shoulder Minter go under the knife, it would be months removed after he had surgery to repair an ailing hip that was bothering him for years.
The good news, at least for the Mets’ future in 2025, is the team recently re-signed lefty Brooks Raley. Raley won’t be available for at least the next few weeks as he recovers from Tommy John surgery. But per the New York Post, Raley could begin a rehab assignment in June.
Moore hits IL
Dylan Moore‘s been a great story for the Mariners thus far, as the utilityman notched six home runs over the first month of 2025. However, Moore has been sidelined with right hip inflammation.
Additionally, Seattle transferred Gregory Santos to the 60-day IL to call up Moore’s replacement, Samad Taylor.
Rehab assignments
Trevor Rogers got hit hard in Triple-A against the Charlotte Knights. Rogers threw 55 pitches on the 29th and gave up three walks, four hits, and four earned runs over 1.2 IP. Josh Rojas, playing in that game for Charlotte, went 0-3 with a walk.
Manuel Margot went 1-3 with an RBI as the DH for Toledo (AAA). Margot did not play the entire game.
