O’Neill on injured list
Orioles outfielder Tyler O’Neill was placed on the IL with neck inflammation, something manager Brandon Hyde said has been bothering him for around a week.
He’s seen a steep drop in production, as O’Neill’s OPS dropped from .912 on April 9 to .669 on April 25.
It marks the fifth straight season O’Neill, who’s never played more than 138 games in a single season, hit the injured list. The last time O’Neill didn’t spend time on the injured list was during the shortened 2020 season.
Gilbert & Keaschall on IL
Seattle will be down their ace for a while. The Mariners placed Logan Gilbert, who left his start on April 25, on the 15-day IL with a mild right flexor strain. It’s the first time in Gilbert’s career he has landed on the injured list.
The Mariners will shut Gilbert down for two weeks.
And as expected, Twins infielder Luke Keaschall was added to the injured list on the 26th after sustaining a forearm fracture on the 25th.
Minter likely headed to IL
The Mets saw reliever A.J. Minter leave the team’s game on April 26 — and he’ll likely be out longer.
Minter is likely headed to the injured list per manager Carlos Mendoza thanks to soreness in his triceps.
