The 2026 Arizona Fall League season is starting up later in October. So, we will be going over the rosters for all six teams in the AFL, starting with the Glendale Desert Dogs. Glendale’s roster is deep in position players and also has some very interesting pitchers, including Braves prospect Briggs McKenzie.
Pitchers
| Player | Team |
|---|---|
| Nick Altermatt | White Sox |
| Brooks Auger | Dodgers |
| Tanner Bauman | Braves |
| Brandon Cain | Pirates |
| Samuel Carpio | Marlins |
| Jonathan Clark | White Sox |
| Luke Fox | Dodgers |
| Pierce George | White Sox |
| Owen Hackman | Braves |
| Sam Horn | Dodgers |
| Mathias LaCombe | White Sox |
| Tyler LaPorte | Braves |
| Briggs McKenzie | Braves |
| Bryan Mena | Pirates |
| Brayan Mendoza | Marlins |
| Cody Morse | Dodgers |
| Zander Mueth | Pirates |
| Marlon Nieves | Dodgers |
| Emmett Olson | Marlins |
| Logan Samuels | Braves |
| Tristan Stevens | Marlins |
| Cristhian Tortosa | Pirates |
| Michael Walsh | Pirates |
| Alex Williams | Marlins |
| Garrett Wright | White Sox |
This is not the most well-known crop of pitching prospects, especially when taking into account just how many journeymen Minor League pitchers are here. Cristian Tortosa had a good strikeout year but bounced around over the years. Tanner Bauman started the year with the Yankees and ended with the Braves.
And then there’s infielder-turned-pitcher Tyler LaPorte. A former indy ball pitcher. LaPorte struck out 73 over 49 innings in Double-A this year.
Nonetheless, there is some very notable talent.
Perhaps the most significant name is Briggs McKenzie, a bonus baby from back in the 2025 MLB Draft and one of the best pitching prospects in the Atlanta system. He only made seven starts between Low-A and High-A but was very good when healthy. McKenzie induced a lot of swing-and-miss and groundballs, part of a season in which he struck out 31 over 26 and posted a 2.08 ERA.
Emmett Olson was a fourth-round pick by the Marlins out of Nebraska in 2023. He’s one of many Rule 5-eligible players in the Arizona Fall League, which is really the last shot that players have to try to earn a 40-man roster spot. Injuries have limited Olson to 157 career pro innings. This year, he walked 19 over 18 innings.
Low-90s fastball, along with a slider, curveball, and changeup.
Sam Horn is looking to make his first impression as a pro pitcher. Horn was a very good college pitcher at Missouri, fell late to the Dodgers in 2025, and missed all of 2026.
Catchers
| Player | Team |
|---|---|
| Anson Aroz | Dodgers |
| Easton Carmichael | Pirates |
| Grant Magill | White Sox |
You never know what some of these A-ball catchers can do after spending some time in the Arizona Fall League. And in the case of Owen Ayers for the Cubs, he springboarded a strong fall into a massive 2026 campaign.
Anson Aroz put up reasonably good numbers in limited playing time this season. Aroz, a 19th-round pick out of Oregon in 2025, posted a .395 on-base percentage between Low-A and High-A.
The big name among the backstops, though, is former Oklahoma catcher Easton Carmichael. Carmichael was part of a deep High-A Greensboro team (I’ll get to that in a minute) and hit 20 combined home runs between High-A and Low-A. He was a third-rounder back in 2025.
Grant Magill is a 25-year-old catcher who slashed .237/.297/.366 this season.
Infielders
| Player | Team |
|---|---|
| Anthony DePino | White Sox |
| Chase Harlan | Dodgers |
| Carter Johnson | Marlins |
| Wyatt Sanford | Pirates |
| Jhonny Severino | Pirates |
| Colby Shelton | White Sox |
| Tate Southisene | Braves |
Tate Southisene was the Braves’ top pick in 2025 and performed extremely well in his first full pro season.
The 19-year-old slashed .278/.408/.467 with 12 home runs and 35 extra-base hits, plus 45 stolen bases. Throughout the year, we noted just how patient Southisene was in A-ball, which helped him earn 65 total walks in a year that he finished in Double-A.
Pittsburgh is sending two slugging infielders from its High-A club to Arizona. Wyatt Sanford hit 17 home runs in just 72 contests with Greensboro, while Jhonny Severino led the South Atlantic League in home runs.
Anthony DePino and Colby Shelton were both advanced college picks from the 2025 MLB Draft. Both pushed their way to Double-A in their first full seasons.
Former second-rounder Carter Johnson found some consistency after a very difficult 2025 campaign in Low-A. Johnson hit 14 home runs and 42 extra-base hits between Jupiter and High-A Beloit.
Outfielders
| Player | Team |
|---|---|
| Caleb Bonemer | White Sox |
| Owen Carey | Braves |
| Charles Davalan | Dodgers |
| Isaiah Drake | Braves |
| Dillon Lewis | Marlins |
| Eduardo Quintero | Dodgers |
| Max Williams | Marlins |
This is about as deep an outfield as one may find in the AFL this season.
We’ll start with Caleb Bonemer, who hit 37 home runs this year and is looking to be a key part of the White Sox’s future, wherever that may be in the field. It’s a pretty clear-cut game with Bonemer: lots of pop, heavy pull-side tendency, and a lot of strikeouts. Yet, he also got on base a ton, with 84 total walks between High-A and Double-A.

Bonemer is listed as an outfielder on the Glendale roster. He spent the vast majority of his professional career to this point between third and short. However, he got into nine games as a center fielder in 2026.
Isaiah Drake came into 2026 well-known for his speed. But this year, in just 68 games in High-A, he set a career-high in home runs with 12. Plus, he also stole 19 bases. He’ll be joined alongside fellow Atlanta prospect Owen Carey.
Dillon Lewis was the headliner prospect who went to Miami when the Marlins sent pitcher Ryan Weathers to the Yankees. Lewis only played 89 games but did hit for a lot of power, just like he did in A-ball back in 2025. He cracked 18 home runs and 34 extra-base hits.
Max Williams, who performed well over the final weeks in Double-A, will join Lewis in Arizona.
Then, there are the two Dodgers outfielders: Charles Davalan and Eduardo Quintero. Both had amazing years in A-ball. Davalan hit 24 home runs and was among the consistent contact hitters in High-A. As for Quintero, he stole 44 bases and racked up 46 extra-base hits. In terms of plate patience, Quintero was upper-echelon.
