With the 2026 Minor League Baseball season in the books, it’s time for one last batch of monthly farm reports. It was a good month for the five NL West clubs, as all of them had at least one club in the MiLB postseason. Plus, a slew of strong performances from notable prospects.
Diamondbacks
Earlier in the month, we noted that Ryder Helfrick was one of the best in Low-A, in terms of working the pull side. Why does that matter? Well, it’s a sign that Helfrick has no problem getting the bat head out and doing damage.
Helfrick ended the year with five more home runs over 24 contests with Low-A Visalia.
Carson Kerce batted over .300 with Visalia over the final few days of the year. Brayden Dowd, drafted in the third round out of Florida State, only batted .165 on the year. However, he made plenty of contact, so much so that he ranked among the California League’s best in said category.
Up in the Northwest League, one of the positive stories this year was all of the pitchers who performed well & perpahps exceeded expectations in Hillsboro. One of those was Joe Ariola, a 2025 MLB Draft pick out of Wake Forest who had promising stuff but struggled with command in college.
Ariola did well in five relief appearances, striking out 19 over 10 IP. The left-hander had the second-most strikeouts in the Northwest League over the final two weeks, behind only Rio Britton (20).
Also in Hillsboro, Patrick Forbes struck out 13 and walked one over his final seven innings.
Kayson Cunningham had a very nice last few weeks to 2026. Arizona’s 2025 first-rounder slashed .275/.383/.451 with eight walks, one of the highest Take% in the Northwest League, and five extra-base hits over his final 13 games of 2026.
Moving to Double-A Amarillo, the Sod Poodles had two of the best swing-and-miss pitchers in the circuit: Josh Grosz & David Hagaman. It was a good end for Grosz, who the D-Backs will have to make a decision on after 2026. He came into the year with starter upside but worked much of 2026 in the bullpen. The right-hander is Rule 5-eligible.
Hagaman, meanwhile, ended the year with a sub-3.00 ERA and 132 strikeouts over 106 innings between High-A and Double-A. It was a clear breakout year for the right-hander.
Dodgers
The Dodgers shuffled up some of their outfield prospects during the Minor League playoffs, as Charles Davalan and Eduardo Quintero were moved to Double-A Tulsa. Mike Sirota, after the Drillers’ season ended, was shifted up to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
It was an outstanding year for all three. Davalan, who will be going to Arizona in October, finished with 24 home runs after a standout 2025 with Arkansas. Quintero batted over .300, stole 44 bases, and accumulated 46 extra-base hits. Sirota, meanwhile, walked 100 total times and posted a .987 cumulative OPS.
Sirota was a start in Double-A this season, as was Christian Zazueta. In the same light that the Dodgers acquired a low-level prospect in Sirota nearly two years ago, Los Angeles did so three years ago with Zazueta. And heading into 2027, the right-hander may walk into the year as the best pitching prospect in the system. Zazueta struck out 25 over his final 21 innings with Tulsa.
Low-A Ontario made the postseason in the California League. And yes, there were some very positive stories. Luis Gamez struck out 20 over his final 10 innings. The club also had three of the top Whiff% pitchers in that circuit over the final two weeks. One was Jack O’Connor, a 2025 draft pick, and the other was 2026 pick Charlie West.
Former first-rounder Kellon Lindsay had a mammoth final few weeks. Lindsay walked 15 times, stole eight bases, and hit eight home runs for the Tower Buzzers.
Giants
The Giants have some nice pieces to work with in the farm system.
Jackson Flora, the club’s top pick from 2026, made his pro debut with San Jose before the club shuffled him to Double-A Richmond. He only pitched five innings but Flora was awfully impressive. He struck out 10 and showed the sharp fastball & slider that got him drafted in the first round.
Speaking of San Jose, Josuar Gonzalez finished the year on a very high note. Gonzalez’s 19 hits over his final 12 regular-season games were tied for the California League high.
Keyner Martinez struck out 20 over his final 15.2 IP. The 22-year-old right-hander finished with 134 strikeouts over 93 innings in total this season during the regular season.
Up in High-A, Jhonny Level notched 19 hits over his final 13 games. It was a breakout year for Level, who finished with 18 home runs and 26 stolen bases. No, it wasn’t a 20-20 campaign. However, he showed an impressive blend of contact, power, and Level did all of that as a teenager.
The Emeralds also saw Cam Maldonado hit four home runs. Maldonado, a 2025 MLB Draft pick out of Northeastern, was one of the more consistent pull-side hitters in the Northwest League. Also in that category was Kaeden Kent, acquired by the club in August.
We also cap this section off without mentioning Bo Davidson, who was selected and promoted on September 21. Davidson, who hasn’t stopped hitting since going pro, had 12 extra-base hits (five home runs) over his final month in Triple-A.
Padres
The Padres’ Low-A club won the California League title, and there was no shortage of positive stories from the Storm’s 2026 season.
Coleman Borthwick, who didn’t pitch in the regular season for Lake Elsinore, struck out six in four playoff innings. Adler Cecil capped off a 107-strikeout season with 19 over his final three outings of the regular season, while Lake Elsinore had two pitchers (Lan-Hong Su & Tyler Schmitt) in the top 10 of the circuit in Whiff%.
Offensively, the big star was Joe Tiroly, who slashed .323/.380/.692 with seven home runs and 10 extra-base hits over 17 games in the regular season. He also tallied six hits in the playoffs. Tiroly was a seventh-round pick by San Diego out of Virginia, and he loved to pull the baseball with the Storm.
The former Cavalier led the California League in home runs over the final two weeks.
In the Midwest League, Winyer Chourio had a nice end to the year. Chourio struck out 17 over 12.2 IP, before he’ll go to the Arizona Fall League for additional work. The 22-year-old ended his year with 122 strikeouts over 92.2 IP.
Kerrington Cross notched 15 hits in his final 15 games with Fort Wayne before he was promoted to Double-A. The 24-year-old had 80 walks and 45 total extra-base hits during the 2025 campaign.
Romeo Sanabria had 28 hits over his final 18 contests with Double-A San Antonio, finishing with a batting average of .400 and a sub-15% Whiff% over his final few weeks of the year.
Rockies
It was a big month for several notable hitting prospects within the Rockies’ system.
Charlie Condon ended the 2026 regular season on a good note after some ups-and-downs with Triple-A Albuquerque. Condon slashed .286/.407/.500 with five home runs and 11 extra-base hits across 26 contests. The 23-year-old finished the year with 27 home runs and 59 extra-base hits in the Pacific Coast League.
Roc Riggio, like Condon, had five home runs with the Isotopes over the final month of the year.
In Low-A, Robert Calaz had an exceptionally strong end to the year. Calaz, one of the more patient hitters during that time, slashed .405/.479/.952 with 17 hits and a league-high six home runs.
Daniel Jackson hit four home runs over his last 14 games of 2026, capping off a very strong year for the Georgia Bulldog.
