The 2026 Peoria Javelinas roster includes several former first-rounders, plus some pitchers who need to make up for lost time in Arizona. Plus, a couple of slugging infielders and a catcher who rose rather quickly in both the White Sox and Mariners’ systems in 2026.

The Cardinals are sending several notables, including Tekoah Roby & Nate Dohm.

Dohm, acquired from the Mets in 2025, showed promise that season but hasn’t pitched particularly well since the trade over to St. Louis. Roby struck out 87 over 78.1 IP, knocking on the door of the MLB level. However, he missed all of 2026.

Aside from those two, there are several other really interesting names.

Luke Holman was a very good pitcher at LSU, which earned him a second-round selection in 2024. But since going pro, Holman tossed just 15.2 IP, making the 2027 campaign a make-or-break one.

Winyer Chourio blew away a lot of hitters down in Low-A and pitched very well down the stretch with High-A Fort Wayne. Chourio, who signed his first pro deal as a 20-year-old in 2024, struck out 122 over 92 IP.

Kiefer Lord was one of the Orioles’ top draft picks in 2023. Lord is Rule 5-eligible, and boasts a mid-90s fastball and two breaking balls. That could make him an interesting reliever option for interested MLB teams.

Catchers

PlayerTeam
Matthew EllisMariners
Ty HarveyPadres
Boston SmithMariners

Seattle is sending two catchers to the AFL. One is 26-year-old Matthew Ellis, who hit 17 home runs in High-A this season. The other is C/OF Boston Smith, one of the more interesting prospects in the Seattle system.

Smith was traded twice this year, once in March by Washington for Curtis Mead. The second time was in August when the White Sox acquired pitcher Luis Castillo from the Mariners. He hit 31 home runs and walked 97 times in 112 games this season. He was consistently one of the highest-ranked in both High-A and Low-A in terms of Take% and Pull FB%.

Ty Harvey received a seven-figure bonus out of high school to sign with the Padres in 2025. Like Smith, the kind of hitter who likes to take and work counts. However, he needs to play, as Harvey missed significant time on the IL.

Infielders

Carlos SanchezReds

First baseman Carter Graham is Rule 5-eligible, although it may very well be a higher climb for him to be taken in said draft. Graham hit 29 home runs between High-A and Double-A this season, plus 80 total walks.

Brandon Eike, a 2024 MLB Draft pick, hit 24 home runs and 55 extra-base hits with High-A Everett.

Another Rule 5-eligible infielder is 21-year-old Carlos Sanchez. Sanchez slashed .270/.376/.440 with 16 home runs and 44 total extra-base hits. It was a breakout year for the young infielder, who never hit more than eight in a single season.

Outfielders

PlayerTeam
Yerlin ConfidanReds
Vance HoneycuttOrioles
Ike IrishOrioles
Alex McCoyPadres
Tai PeeteCardinals

Two former first-round picks for the Orioles are going to the Arizona Fall League: Ike Irish & Vance Honeycutt.

We’ll start with Irish, one of the best prospects in the Baltimore system. Irish hit 16 home runs and swiped 20 bases, in what was a good all-around season for the 22-year-old. The only problem was that an injury robbed him of time down the stretch during the regular season. Some swing-and-miss but not a hefty amount.

Honeycutt is a more complicated prospect. Unlike Irish, Honeycutt sported a high 36% Whiff% in High-A, numbers very similar to what he posted at the level in 2025. The 23-year-old is very toolsy, as he stole 38 bases, is fast, and has a ton of plus pop. Getting that pop to show up in-game is important.

Two other outfielders of note are Alex McCoy & Tai Peete.

Peete is a highly skilled outfielder and a former first-round pick. Acquired in the Brendan Donovan trade from February, Peete’s got pop and swing-and-miss, par for the course with some. McCoy, signed as a UDFA from Hofstra two years ago, rose to become one of the better prospects in a thinner San Diego system.
