On June 23, the final coaches’ poll of the 2026 NCAA baseball season was released. What was in it could be considered a formality, as the new national champions were on top. It also included some of the best-performing schools from the past month across the Division I tournament.

Here’s a look at the top 25 (coaches’ poll via USA Today) after the conclusion of the NCAA tournament:

As would be expected, Oklahoma is the top-rated school after winning the 2026 national title. The Sooners, the #2 seed in the Atlanta Regional, weren’t in the final top-25 coaches’ poll released before the tourney, as Oklahoma lost their final SEC series, then were bounced by LSU in the school’s lone game in the SEC tourney.
Despite all of that, the Sooners caught fire. A pitching staff led by freshmen and an offense led by Jaxon Willits, Deiten Lachance, and Jason Walk, among others, led the charge.
As for the North Carolina Tar Heels, the runner-ups finish second. UNC lost 13-2 in the final game of the 2026 season, one day after stellar pitching and home runs from Owen Hull and Cooper Nicholson helped extend the Tar Heels’ hopes for their first national title.
The rest of the top eight features the other schools in the 2026 College World Series. Georgia and West Virginia, the two teams that missed out on the final, finished #3 and #4, respectively.
UCLA, the top school entering the 2026 tourney, finished at #10 after the Bruins were ousted after two losses to Saint Mary’s (CA) in the Los Angeles Regional.
Lastly, the top-25 was rounded out by three previously-unranked schools that made the Super Regionals: Cal Poly, St. John’s, and Little Rock.
