Just in time for the fantasy players, several playoff performers in the Majors have excelled in recent weeks. Among those players were a scorching-hot slugger from the Giants, plus two pitchers who worked in the 2025 World Series. Here’s a look at who’s hot and who’s not as Week 22 of the 2026 fantasy baseball season concludes.

Risers

• OF Roman Anthony (Red Sox)
• 3B Alex Bregman (Cubs)
• 1B Rafael Devers (Giants)
• SP Kevin Gausman (Cubs)
• C Carter Jensen (Royals)
• SP Blake Snell (Dodgers)

Aside from the obligatory acknowledgement that Pete Crow-Armstrong will go down as 2026 fantasy baseball’s MVP, his teammate Alex Bregman has been just as important a cog in that Cubs lineup as PCA over the past few weeks.

Heading into play on September 5, Bregman was one home run shy of tying Crow-Armstrong for the league lead over the last week. The Cubs infielder had five home runs and 13 total hits from August 29 through the 4th, and that hit total did lead the league.

Rafael Devers hit two more home runs against the Mets on September 5, giving him six from the 29th of August through today. While things have not gone well for the Giants (and Devers himself) at times, there’s no doubt that the corner infielder will walk in 2027 as one of the top first basemen in drafts.

Speaking of looking ahead, Carter Jensen hit three home runs over the last week. Jensen, now up to 22 home runs, was one of those players shied away from in drafts earlier in the spring. That won’t be the case come next year, when Jensen should be one of the more valuable catchers available.

Roman Anthony, in his first week back from the IL, hit .385 with five extra-base hits. That doesn’t negate all the time he missed in 2026. But realistically, nothing can be done about that.

Blake Snell and Kevin Gausman were the two MLB strikeout leaders over the past week. Just in time for September, two well-known playoff performers are shining late in the year.

Fallers

• SP Sandy Alcantara (Marlins)
• 1B Michael Busch (Cubs)
• OF Corbin Carroll (Diamondbacks)
• SP Logan Gilbert (Mariners)
• 1B Munetaka Murakami (White Sox)
• OF Kyle Schwarber (Phillies)

Both Murakami and Schwarber went deep on September 5, so this portion is somewhat moot. But both needed a day to snap out of their respective funks.

Murakami went 1-for-21 over the last week, while Schwarber went 2-for-23. Not great for the stretch run in fantasy.

Corbin Carroll and Michael Busch didn’t do well, either. Carroll had just one hit, while Michael Busch entered play on the 5th on a 3-for-30 stretch.

Logan Gilbert and Sandy Alcantara, meanwhile, put up tough numbers. For Alcantara, he conceded eight earned runs over 12 innings and struck out just five.
