No, nobody was injured in the 2026 Home Run Derby. However, even during the 2026 All-Star Game break, there is still injury-related news. Namely, rehab assignments, as several players currently on the IL were in action on the 13th.
Ragans out 10-12 months
Royals pitcher Cole Ragans did not undergo UCL reconstruction surgery when he had his operation earlier this month. Instead, he had a more minimal surgery that repaired his ligament with sutures.
He’s now expected to miss 10-12 months (h/t MLB.com).
Rehab assignments
With full-season affiliates shut down until the weekend, several Major Leaguers currently on the IL played in rehab games down in the FCL & ACL on the 13th.
Atlanta had two players with the club’s FCL affiliate. Ronald Acuna Jr. went 0-3 with a strikeout. Ha-Seong Kim went 2-3 with a strikeout and home run.
The Astros had two rehabbing pitchers in the FCL. Kai-Wei Teng struck out two over two scoreless innings, while Bennett Sousa struck out one over a scoreless frame.
Reds outfielder Dane Myers went 0-1 with a walk and strikeout in the ACL.
Angels catcher Gustavo Campero went 0-1 in a game that was suspended.
Tigers pitcher Jackson Jobe struck out four over three innings for the team’s FCL affiliate. Jobe sat 97-100 MPH during that outing. He was also joined by Gleyber Torres, who went 1-3 with an RBI.
Hunter Barco, currently with Triple-A Indianapolis, went 1.2 IP and struck out one. Barco was hitting 92-93 MPH during that outing.
Other notes
Orioles pitcher Keegan Akin (left elbow discomfort) was transferred to the 60-day IL.
