The Yankees were able to cap off another strong series on May 7 — but it didn’t start well. That is because Jasson Dominguez suffered a shoulder injury in the first inning, one that’ll keep him out for several weeks.
Dominguez suffered shoulder injury
Yankees outfielder Jasson Dominguez had to be carted off the field after he collided with the left field scoreboard panel in Yankee Stadium after he robbed Brandon Nimmo of an extra-base hit.
So far, concussion tests on Dominguez have come back negative. However, manager Aaron Boone indicated that the outfielder suffered an AC sprain in his shoulder that’ll keep him out for a few weeks.
Ragans dealing with pitcher’s elbow
Royals pitcher Cole Ragans was diagnosed with valgus extension overload in his left elbow.
Ragans will be evaluated in the coming days.
IL placements
After Roman Anthony injured his wrist in Detroit, the Red Sox outfielder was officially placed on the 10-day IL with a right wrist sprain.
Padres catcher Luis Campusano was placed on the 10-day IL with a left toe fracture.
Pirates reliever Chris Devenski was placed on the 15-day IL with an illness.
Rehab assignments
Orioles infielder Jackson Holliday went 0-3 with a strikeout for Double-A Chesapeake.
Blue Jays reliever Yimi Garcia went 0.2 IP with the team’s FCL affiliate on May 7. He gave up two hits and one earned run.
