Soto suffered hand injury

Mets outfielder Juan Soto was removed in the ninth inning on September 26 with a hand injury, after he was hit with an inside fastball from Richard Lovelady.

Manager Andy Green indicated that X-rays came back negative on Soto’s hand.

Jax leaves

Rays starting pitcher Griffin Jax was removed in his final regular-season start against the Phillies thanks to a back contusion.

Jax took a line drive off the back from Trea Turner in the third inning.

IL moves

The Rangers placed Josh Jung on the 10-day IL with a right hand fracture, one day after he suffered the injury in Minnesota.

Padres pitcher Casey Mize was placed on the 15-day IL with a right ankle sprain.

Jeff Hoffman of the Twins was placed on the 15-day IL with right forearm inflammation.

Tigers outfielder Kerry Carpenter (plantar fasciitis) was transferred to the 60-day IL.

Kaelen Culpepper (Twins), Gavin Sheets (Padres), and Connelly Early (Nationals) was activated off the injured list.

Other notes

Mariners pitcher Kade Anderson was pulled with a forearm bruise against the Angels.

Pirates outfielder Oneil Cruz left the club’s game after injuring himself in the outfield.
