Facing a must-win game at home, the Padres were able to meet the moment and extend their series against the Brewers. Across the country, the Dodgers mashed two home runs and overpowered the Braves in Atlanta.
Dodgers one win away from NLCS
The Dodgers took Game 3 of the 2026 NLDS against the Braves, defeating Atlanta 3-1.
Chris Sale was hot to start, as he struck out six over the first two innings and notched three scoreless frames to begin his night. But in the fourth, Enrique Hernandez hit his 17th career postseason home run, a two-run shot, to put Los Angeles in front. Freddie Freeman added a solo home run off Sale later that inning.
The Braves were only able to get one run over Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who struck out 10 over seven strong innings. Tanner Scott and Edwin Diaz both tossed scoreless innings to finish it.
Brewers/Padres
The Padres defeated the Brewers 4-3 to force a Game 4 in that series.
San Diego scored two in the third to take a 2-0 lead over the Brewers. William Contreras cut the lead in half with a solo home run in the fourth, and Milwaukee tied with a sac fly from Jackson Chourio one inning later.
But later that inning, Jake Cronenworth hit a solo home run to break the tie. And the Padres scored the game-winning run in the sixth after Xander Bogaerts scored after Jake Bauers couldn’t pick a Cooper Pratt throw to first cleanly.
Michael King went two innings in relief and picked up the save. Mason Miller was placed on the paternity list earlier in the day.
What’s ahead?
