The 2026 NLCS kicked off on October 11, as the Brewers and Dodgers met in Milwaukee to start off the series. After a four-game sweep at the hands of the Dodgers last October, the Brewers struck first this time around, as Milwaukee notched a one-run win to take an early series lead.

Brewers get 1-0 lead

The Brewers defeated the Dodgers 2-1 to take the first of a best-of-seven NLCS versus the Dodgers.

Jacob Misiorowski, the starter for Milwaukee in Game 1, threw 44 pitches that clocked in at 100.0 MPH or higher. However, the Brewers’ ace didn’t elicit a ton of swing-and-misses (23.8%) and went just 4.1 IP with three walks and five strikeouts. He also allowed an RBI single to Andy Pages that scored the first run of the game.

Tarik Skubal, who was pursued by the Brewers in the summer, did elicit swing-and-misses, with a 34.2% Whiff% in the game. Skubal struck out seven over five innings for the Dodgers. Unfortunately for Los Angeles, the damage that the Brewers were able to get off the lefty was enough.

Milwaukee tied the game in the fourth, as Brice Turang hit a solo shot off Tarik Skubal that made it a 1-1 game. One inning later, Luis Lara picked up an RBI single that drove in the game-winning run.

The Brewers’ bullpen was excellent yet again. Milwaukee relievers were not charged with a run over 4.2 IP. Trevor Megill was in some trouble in the ninth, as he walked Kyle Tucker and Josue De Paula to put the tying and go-ahead runs on base. Mookie Betts flew out to center with two on to seal the win for the Brewers.

What’s ahead?

Game 2 of the NLCS will take place on the afternoon of October 12. As for the ALCS, that will get going at night in Florida.
