A difficult season for the Mets & Phillies got more difficult on April 26. Philadelphia took another loss to the Braves, while the Mets took two to the Rockies in a doubleheader in Queens.

Rockies take two more in Queens

Colorado won both of their games on April 26, giving the Rockies a three-game sweep over the Mets. The two teams played a doubleheader after their previously scheduled game on the 25th was rained out.

New York only mustered four hits in the first game, and two off former Met Jose Quintana. Edouard Julien and Jake McCarthy each had two hits for Colorado. Nolan McLean pitched well (34.1% Whiff%) and struck out seven but took the loss.

In the second game, Chase Dollander was the story. The right-hander struck out seven and didn’t allow a barreled-up ball the entire game. His ERA is now down to 2.25.

The Mets are now 9-19 on the season, tied for the worst record in the Majors alongside the Phillies. Philadelphia also lost on the 26th, as the Phillies fell to the Atlanta Braves, who are now 20-9 on the season. New York’s 92 runs scored are the fewest in the Majors.

Mariners sweep Cardinals

A Rob Refsnyder home run in the ninth inning gave the Mariners a 3-2 victory over the Cardinals, completing a sweep of St. Louis.

Rookies JJ Wetherholt and Nathan Church went deep again on the 26th, and the two now have five home runs each on the season. However, those were the only two runs scored by the Cardinals.

Cal Raleigh also went deep for the M’s, while Emerson Hancock went six innings.

With the win, the Mariners have now won four in a row and are 1.5 games back on the AL West lead.

Dodgers take series from Cubs

Yet again, Justin Wrobleski impressed.

The left-hander struck out six over six scoreless innings en route to his fourth win of the 2026 campaign. Shohei Ohtani picked up three hits, including a home run, in the Dodgers’ 6-0 victory over the Cubs.

Chicago only had four hits in the loss.

Harrison dominant for Milwaukee

Left-hander Kyle Harrison was masterful for the Brewers, as he struck out 12 over six shutout innings for the Brewers on April 26. Milwaukee won 5-0 over the Pirates.

Harrison, a strikeout machine in the Minors, lowered his 2026 ERA in the Majors to 2.28. His 23 swings-and-misses were most on the day across the Majors.

The Pirates, meanwhile, only have two hits.

Red Sox win after blowup

Interim manager Chad Tracy has his first win with the Red Sox.

A day after the team fired ex-manager Alex Cora, the Red Sox defeated the Orioles 5-3. Connelly Early went 6.2 innings for Boston, while Ceddanne Rafaela and Willson Contreras paced the offense again. Rafaela had two hits, while Contreras hit his sixth home run of 2026.
